RE: Video of S. Vietnamese Bulldog
I'm still around lol, but thanks for noticing my absence :) After I bought an RC heli, it seemed to break the RC tank spell (only flew it a few times, novelty wore off) - now I've taken a giant step back from tanks and RC in general. I still have all my tanks, and help people out via email with their wiring/tank issues. These newer tanks coming out are super-desirables (sounds chinglish), I can't believe I havent got a jagdpanther... I think I'm scared to commit (again lol).... once the wallet opens, closing it is a whole different matter!

I have a couple of these Dragon Micro-X-tech Tigers, but mine aren't "FAME CITY KINGS" with "urban camo" (what the heck... [8|]) One of TankZone's frequent customers will buy it... its only 10x markup, cheaper than Tankzone lol
ORIGINAL: Norse in theory running a dual 1700mah setup is just like running one 3400mah. but the extra weight seems to help the tanks grip so :P
Thats all I expected - longer runtimes - but I got better performance, you could literally hear the difference, it didnt moan and groan it just pulled and pulled... I'll compare some of my videos, I think I got a few showing the performance difference [:D]

RE: Standard mods?
Most of the parts you're struggling with are screwed on, but you probably already know that now :D There are different brands of metal tracks floating around, I know earlier ones include metal idlers but have also seen the kits like you got without idlers. If you have metal gearboxes but have never had your tank open, then you're not getting the best from your tank - a good gearbox "break-in" makes a world of difference!

When using twin 1700's in my Abrams it gave it a lot more punch, both were equally charged etc, and boy did it make a difference in extended pulling power (as in nothing could stop it)

RE: HELP NEEDED!! RC (H/L) TANK (PANTHER) CAN'T MOVE FORWARD! RED LED BLINKING
The problem with the tank not moving straight happens because the non-S&S has no proportional drive or adjustable trims to counter non-straight drive. An easy option to cure-all is purchasing a Smoke & Sound kit and fitting it yourself using my [link=http://members.iinet.net.au/~wackywheelz/tanks/hobbyhavoc/ssupgrade/pershing/]conversion guide[/link] then you'll have a much

If I had a spare 40mhz transmitter I'd send one, perhaps its time for an S&S upgrade, OR you could switch the two wires over going to the motors which would give forward movement but no reverse :D

RE: the weasleing
We talked about this a while back: we found the main *ouch* factor was the price - sure, for just over $1800USD you get a unique vehicle, yet very small, includes gearboxes but absolutely no electronics. In the end it would be an expensive little unit, for sure.

RE: HELP NEEDED!! RC (H/L) TANK (PANTHER) CAN'T MOVE FORWARD! RED LED BLINKING
Stock charger/battery will charge in under 5 hours, with the 500mah closer to 4 hours. If you've charged for 8 then thats not good for the battery. The transmitter fault would be an easy cure, its likely dry solder joint, loose slide-contact or lost a wire. If your Panther is non-S&S it won't have a seperate receiver board, their (non-S&S) board is all-in-one. Worst comes to worse I could possibly send you a spare if it comes to it. Straight out of the box, if the battery hasnt got enough charge you can get all kinds of things happen, anything from the expected slow-response to completely reversed controls and random functions (cured by a good charge). Charge times are as follows: 400mah charger: 1700mah - 5hrs 6m 1800mah - 5hrs 24m 2000mah - 6hrs 500mah charger: 1700mah - 4hrs 6m 1800mah - 4hrs 18m 2000mah - 4hrs 48m (above rates are from-flat)

My only concern with stunts + Bulldog is the front idler mount. I've installed 9.6v Tyco racing stuff into one of my Tigers and boy did it move! Shows the potential is there, but dont expect long chassis life, they just werent build for long-term physical abuse (not use, abuse)

RE: My addition to our endless "want" list
I'm not saying its not do-able personally, we can create what we want, as can small-quantity manufacturers, but I was thinking and answering along the lines of major manufacturing/mass production, where modular parts make the whole thing a much easier process, and as it is right now none of the regularly available tank gearboxes would be an easy fit, thats all I was getting at :D

RE: My addition to our endless "want" list
Plenty of space for electronics, yes, but not regular "already out there" gearboxes that are tough enough. It's not a matter of low profile but thin hull - at 1:16 scale we're talking 8.3cm or 3 1/4inch at the hull's bottom (where the gearbox would mount) tapering to 10cm or 3 15/16inch at mid-hull level (where the lower hull meets the upper), which translates as very small :D Heres a few measurements to take into consideration (in 1/16 scale) Hull bottom: 26cm x 8.3cm (10 1/4in x 3 1/4in) Width at widest point: 15.9cm (6 5/16in) Length excluding gun: 29.1cm (11 7/16in) Including gun: 39.4cm (15 1/2in)

Not with any of the "big names" regular gearboxes... small manufacturer could make some, sure, but then the prices usually don't suit "the masses"...
