thks brice....once i got hold all the stuff i need i wil proceed making the steel shaft...welding etc...all done i will fix everyting up dats it the rear drive in ready n proceed on to next level engine mounting n chasis body........now still tinking to use steel plate or tube steel...my width size of the baja is 67mm is bigger width than hpi baja lol....

its not that easy to weld kind of stuff u need skill the very tru but nice follow up good job spot welding is expensive but can withstand...here cost me $400 for normal welding...home usage but good and expensive....i can do it at home wih out sending to my fen shop n trouble him....i have a grinder to cut of tube steel.....

fabe the thickness is 2-3 mm that might coz alot of weight if i were to use steel plate but easy to bend n drill hole for engine mounting n other application.

thks fabe looking forward neatly place all the item nice tyre good ciurculation of wiring....i like the hub holding the sprocket...i have the bearing holder now waiting to make the shaft the sprocket hub n brake hub once its done i will juz put the item together take a pic of it...once the rear drive is ready den i can proceed with the engine installation n position, now im wondering whether to use steel plate width 2.5cm as a body frame or a tubular steel tube...im stuck at welding as i need to go here n there...i will tink abt it soon. using tube steel might bring down the weight less than a plate steel.

if u dun feel hurt in getting ur chasis scratch juz get one if not juz hav a look...when cf tend to get scratch and get hurt at the same spot again the strengthness is less sooner or later it will crack n break from the part it hurt most...especially high jumping big stone gravel etc....

Homemade 1/4 scale Replica of Baja.
In the making process of the replica of hpi baja but in 1/4 scale..Some of the components part have been consolidated..waiting for the final..measurement. hopefully it can be turn out to be the replica of hpi baja but in 1/4 scale. For the time being i will use some part of the baja not most of it when the final drawing is out,den it will be replace by raw material...I will be using 49cc engine hopefully powerful enuff..[:D] the size in length and width have not been determine yet but i have came up with a blueprint of the rear drive.Jus a simple rear drive without any complication and taking to much space.Im trying to cut down the weight to less than 50kg possible.why im making this...juz pop out of my mind...inspired by sumone..it may takes sum time for the project to finish so sit back n relax for new updates.getting part drawing etc needs time for me unless i have a workshop on my own, here and there i have to run to send for welding cutting etc... Heres sumting of my blueprint with out the upper n lower arm and wheels.

1/4 scale suspension/shock
Hi guys sooner or later i will building up 1/4 scale car.some parts i have been collecting & buying. The problem is since the weight of the car will be much more heavy than hpi baja,, by using 4 baja rear shock to put onto 1/4 scale car rear shock tower,do u guys tink it can withstand the weight of the 49cc engine? or will it make the car droop more lower? if it was impossible to use 4 baja shock ,which n where can i get this kind of shock? any link or webby or pic? plz advise....

RE: To sway or not to sway…
A sway bar is usually a torsion spring that resists body roll motions. It is usually constructed out of a U-shaped piece of steel that connects to the body at two points, and at the left and right sides of the suspension. If the left and right wheels move together, the bar just rotates about its mounting points and does not bend. If the wheels move relative to each other, the bar is subjected to torsion and forced to twist. The bar resists the torsion through its stiffness. The stiffness of an anti-roll bar is based on the fourth power of its radius, the stiffness of the material, the inverse of the length of the lever arms (i.e., the shorter the lever arm, the stiffer the bar), the geometry of the mounting points, and the rigidity of the bar's mounting points. Some anti-roll bars, particularly those intended for use in auto racing, are adjustable, allowing their stiffness to be altered by increasing or reducing the length of the lever arms. This permits the roll stiffness to be tuned for different situations without replacing the entire bar. The stiffer the bar, the more force required to move the left and right wheels relative to each other. This increases the amount of force required to make the body roll. In a turn, the sprung mass of the vehicle's body produces a lateral force at the center of mass (CG), proportional to lateral acceleration. Because the CG is usually not on the roll axis, the lateral force creates a moment about the roll axis that tends to roll the body. (The roll axis is a line that joins the front and rear roll centers (SAEJ670e)). The moment is called the roll couple. Roll couple is resisted by the suspension roll stiffness, which is a function of the spring rate of the vehicle's springs and of the anti-roll bars, if any. The use of anti-roll bars allows designers to reduce roll without making the suspension's springs stiffer in the vertical plane, which allows improved body control with less compromise of ride quality. One effect of body (frame) lean, for typical suspension geometry, is positive camber of the wheels on the outside of the turn and negative on the inside, which reduces their cornering grip (especially with cross ply tires). Anti-roll bars provide two main functions. The first function is the reduction of body lean. The reduction of body lean is dependent on the total roll stiffness of the vehicle. Increasing the total roll stiffness of a vehicle does not change the steady state total load (weight) transfer from the inside wheels to the outside wheels, it only reduces body lean. The total lateral load transfer is determined by the CG height and track width. The other function of anti-roll bars is to tune the high g-force and limit understeer behavior of the vehicle. The limit understeer behavior is tuned by changing the proportion of the total roll stiffness that comes from the front and rear axles. Increasing the proportion of roll stiffness at the front will increase the proportion of the total weight transfer that the front axle reacts and decrease the proportion that the rear axle reacts. This will cause the outer front wheel to run at a higher slip angle, and the outer rear wheel to run at a lower slip angle, which is an understeer effect. Increasing the proportion of roll stiffness at the rear axle will have the opposite effect and decrease understeer. Hope i dun bored you.[:)]
