Some driving with my FG!
Took the FG out for a spin today. It was a while since I did that now when I have the HPI Baja in the house. I do enjoy the FG very much eventhough the Baja is outstanding on the track. Short video from today:

RE: Some action
Great action pictures! Is that Hostile MX tires on the two Bajas to the left? If so, how is the traction?

RE: DC2/GT5/C5/FG/EVO/ELCON/CAD/BEETLE
As for bying a separate reed kit for an engine that is not really prepared for a reed kit is a waste of money as far as I`ve heard. If I would buy a reed engine I would definitely go for a "fully reed engine".

It seems to go better and better that engine. How do you get the power into the ground with those original FG wheels? Mine is spinning constantly and my engine does not have halt of your power [:@] [;)] Why the last video? Keep them coming man!

If I were you I would buy the Ramapge tires and adapters for 99 USD. The grip in those tires seems to be great. I`m about to buy them actually since the original FG tires is soo bad when it comes to traction :( http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9127704/tm.htm

Wow, that engine seems to have an endless amount of power especially in the mid- hig end. Looks cool to be able to wheelie in that high speed [:D] What gearing ratio do you have on the Monster now? I guess that the CAD engine has enough power to be able to take a much higher gearing ration then the standard engine. Really looking forward to your trip to the beach. Make sure to take plenty of videos :)

I believe it when I see them but if they give 2 hp gain then they are definitely worth waiting for. I think I will buy my FG a new pipe aswell. I am very pleased with the Samba but it is always nice to buy somethin new. I guess you know this feeling dc2man ;)

Man that is one worn out clutch [X(] (both the clutch shoes and the spring). I think this reinforced spring will do a better job. How much higher in the RPM:s will this spring engage? Please give up your secret regarding this paint job. I really like this blurry transition between the white and blue color.

RE: MY FG BEETLE IS FINALLY BACK....
Yes!!!!!! Finally your Beetle is back. Lets time for some real offroad driving with the CAD engine [:D] Really nice by the way, I really like the combination of that blue and white color. How did you get this rather blurry transition between the white and the blue (I hope you understand what I mean. Damn english is hard :) ) About the tires, I guess dc2man have them on backwards since this increases the grip substantually.

Hey man, isn`t what the forum is all about (helping eachother out) [:D] I have no personal experience with this clutch but as you can see in the links there are several people out there having trouble with the Lauterbacher 3 shoe clutch. But I guess that the Lauterbacher 4 shoe would fit into your FG just as good, right?

RE: DC2/GT5/C5/FG/EVO/ELCON/CAD/BEETLE
Yes, it is mounted to the rollcage just above the left rear shock (seen from the back). Are you really sure you should get the Lauterbacher 3 shoe clutch? I have read a few bad things about it: http://www.hpibajaforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69640 http://www.hpibajaforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68136&highlight=lauterbacher I think that the 4 shoe Lauterbacher would be a better choice for you my friend. Just a warning since it would be a shame if you wasted your money on an expensive clutch that didn`t work properly.

RE: DC2/GT5/C5/FG/EVO/ELCON/CAD/BEETLE
Well....the Dominators are extremely loud. I bet they are louder then your Jetpro [:D] There are several quite pipes out there such as Mielke, FG:s own 3 chamber pipe, Lauterbacher pipe etc....... The Samba is a bit quiter than your Jetpro and is doesn`t take that much space on your car. See my picture:

RE: DC2/GT5/C5/FG/EVO/ELCON/CAD/BEETLE
So, I will continue my answer regarding your choice of pipe in this thread instead. Yes, I do think the Samba would fit your engine great. I`m extremely satisfied with mine (both the way it performs and the way it looks) However, remember that this is the only pipe I have used on my FG Monster so I haven`t that much to compare with really. As you know I am using the Dominator V2 on my Baja and that is one sick pipe I can tell you that [:D] As you probably are aware of DDM also makes these pipes for the FG MT. They have two versions, this top end pipe: http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.1657/.f and this torque pipe: http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.1664/.f I have only heard good thing about these too. May be worth trying.

RE: DC2/GT5/C5/FG/EVO/ELCON/CAD/BEETLE
So you are going to buy the Samba pipe to your Beetle? It will be interesting to hear what you think when your compare these two pipes. Since the Samba is more a low- mid end pipe and the Jetpro is more a top end pipe I bet you will notice a big difference between them. I can tell you one thing, you will not be dissapointed with the finish of the Samba pipe. It is absolutely gorgeous [:D] But why change from the Jetpro, not happy the way it performs?
