RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
thats funny the two p47s that were behind me had g62 in them. HMMM.. Anyways we were doing big loops and stuff so i like the 22x10 better for that. if i would have put on the 20x12 it would not have been a contest.
ORIGINAL: Thunderbolt47
ORIGINAL: ROGER RUSSELL I too am thinking of ordering another (JIC) and put a DLE 55 on it. I have a G62 that flies it really well, but have gone up against one at Muncie Warbirds (IWC) and got my but kicked.
You have the wrong prop then. LOL I'll put my G-62 up agianst any 55 or 60. This weekend I out ran a DLE 55 with the same prop as my 62. he was eating my dust.[:D]
RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
they are quick.. I spent the weekend at Lexington flying with TF giant mustangs. all had DA 50s and my DLE smoked them all weekend and we were all running the same prop. repsol83 have you ever figured it out? I have Seagull extra 260 with a 71 inch wing. I put a DLE 30 on it and have the very same problem. i started out with all good servos. mine is so bad i dont fly it low to the ground to give me room to recover from it.

RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
Yeah i figured that.. seems like they made it too shallow coming out of the engine. their is more room in the cowl. wonder if the bisson would fit if the tubes were extended? I am finding it hard to get the tuneing right.

hey if you havent done yours yet. cover the surface around the holes you make with 2inch wide blue painters tape first and let the tape hang down 4 or 5 inches below the holes and your clean up will only take about 30 seconds. did mine last nighrt it worked great.

Well i havent maden mine yet. But got concerned watching all the bad landings on youtube. seem they were all the same touch down, bounce real high and then snap to the right . didnt know if it was that hard to land or if the pilots were not up to it.. lol

RE: My DLE 55 does not like to pull fuel to the carb after it sets for a while.
come on guys.. enouph with the newbie stuff.. No its not my first. ive been flying gas since 1986. This is the fist time ive seen this issue be such a problem. and fliping the prop 200 times to get fuel is not normal. on my new dle 55 its still on the test bench and i can duplicate this issue at will. pluging the hole works every time. 2 or 3 flips and she pops.

RE: My DLE 55 does not like to pull fuel to the carb after it sets for a while.
hey guys i didnt mention this is a new engine. this is the 3rd new dle in my club that has this issue. i agree it may be internal but seems weird all three do the same thing. one is so bad he has to take the muffler off and squirt gas in the cylinder every time he starts it. if not ,you can flip it all day and it will never hit
