RE: Saito - Pro FG 14 Tips and tricks only!!!
I've had good luck with mine in a showtime 50..... However have needed to replace the spark plug twice.... Not sure why, they looked great. Engine would start and run at idle nut stumble and die on any increase in throttle... Once I installed a new plug it will run great... At $22 each i hope this one lasts.. (the last plug didn't last one gallon)

RE: fg-14 in showtime 50
I supose I could only fly upright and around in circles, it does that great... I'm only concerned about the dying... And why... You cna'y tell me the going straight up and then flatten out is a move that would kill na engine..

RE: fg-14 in showtime 50
[:)]Well, finished the install a few weeks ago and it flys great!!!! Almost thru the 1st gallon and the only problem I'm having is it will die after an abrupt move... If I fly with no loops, rolls etc it will fly all day. Not out of fuel tho... great balance so dead sticks have been great. The fuel line is still full of fuel.. Not sure why it is dying.. checke all electrical conection, clunk, fuel etc. Guess I'll have to change things around and keep flying untill I find out why... Any ideas...

RE: DX7 + AR7000 Lost Binding Issue
I lost a Hnager 9 RV-8 a few weeks ago for the same resaon... 3rd flight with the plane so it was working great.. 2nd flight for that day... lost signal in the 4th lap and down she went... Total loss... After recovery.. Checked all batteries.. All god.. It's a shame something can't be done.. Just another few hundres buck down the drain and no-one to take care of it./..( I know some will say I was possibly at falt but I don't think so, every thing checked out before and after)

RE: Lost another one today
Ok, Sorry to be a little short on the info, I was pissed at the time of writing it... Lets see..... using a DX7 (been using it for past 3 years with out any problems on several other planes) Voltage was checked at time of the accident... 10.4 V. Receiver was a AR7000, All wires were still attached on recovery. Receiver battery was a 6V 3000mah, voltage after wreckage recovered,, 6.4V. Fail safe was at idle.... I may have over stated... It went down... No power to throttle , alerion, rudder, etc.... Not flying pylon just using a pattern of the first turn after takeoff..made 4 (four) laps in an oval around field and started 5th lap, made first turn and while still in turn lost any radio control of the plane... No, not on a buddy box..... 1st plane was lost 4 years ago on a different tx and rx but still from spectrum, dx5e and a500.

Lost another one today
Lost my new plane yesterday,.... Hanger 9 RV-8 with saito 82 in her.... Completely distroyed... Third flight in her. Second flight for yesterday... First flight was 8 min. This flight was only about 3... Rounding the number 1 turn for the 4th lap and I lost all radio controls..... Down she went at 3/4 throttle... Only thing left was 1/2 of a wing and the tail fethers.... Not worth trying to repair.... Went thru all the checks... before flilght.. All was good... After about a 45 min search, Brought all the pieces back and checked all the batteries... All were good......Still don't know what happened..... So I guess my question is... Is there anything I can do about this??? I mean if this is going to happen and i just loose hundreds of $ every 3th or 4th plane just because I think this is the wrong hobbie. I had another about 4 years ago do the sme thing... Horizon had me sned my Alpha 40 with a dx5 back and they send me a whole new one at 1/2 price... (they said they could not find anything wrong)... That plane was on a buddy box and the instructor said about the same thing... It just quit responding.... Any ideas??? Just asking.[8|]

RE: Saito - Pro FG 14 Tips and tricks only!!!
Rght now I am running upright on a test stand. Fuel tank is level with the carb and line is about 5-6 in. Breather vent line open and above tank. I can get it started and will idle as long as I want... When I increase the throttle it stumbles and dies every time... I have not been able to get to trottle wide open yet..... battery is 1700 6V... New gas at correct 20:1 mix,,,, Have yet to adjust the low settings.

RE: Saito - Pro FG 14 Tips and tricks only!!!
Already tried to adjust the high idle... Could it be with the low or too small / large fuel line??? I'm grasping at straws I know.... Using 6V 1700 battery.

RV-8 with FG-14 HELP!!!
Well I screwed up... After what I thought was checking all the details I must have missed one... I purchased a Hanger 9 RV-8 and was (and still want to) going to install the FG-14 motor in it... Long story short... It's TOO LONG>>>>> About 3/4" total..... Now I figure I will have to either cut the firewall and shorten it by 3/4" or somehow lenghten the cowling by that 3/4"... Anyone have any ideas??? I'd like to keep the FG-14,, I think that will be a fantastic motor for this plane... Now that I own both items now what???

RE: Which New 2.4 Transmitter Would You Choose?
The biggest problem I see is that once you get into this sport you go with what you THINK will be best. Getting advise from others you purchase the first one. As you build up more and more planes you tend to aquire a great deal of that brand of receiver and other parts... It becomes harder and harder to switch to a different brand without a substantial cost.[:o] Too bad someone dosen't exchange/trade up for a decent price. I will probably stay with the Spectrum models because I have soo much of that now,,,

Prop for Evolution Trainer motor
Question.... I have a new Hanger 9 Alpha 40 with the Evolution Trainer Power System on it with the 3 blade prop... I'm just learning to fly with the club instructors.... I know it's a long way off, but when I get enough experance with the plane can I change out the prop for better preformance of will I have to change the motor and all? Just thouhgt I'd ask, Seems to me I might be able to put a different 2 blade prop on and get better sped and proformance on the trainer... Thanks for your responces... Mac.
