RE: Club 40 Racing Hangout
Hi DHG....that sign is there for good reason. We fly jets. Some of our electric fan jets are hitting close to 180 mph and the turbines can reach that speed easily. At those speeds, a plane can get out of sight pretty fast. We have neighbors on one end of our field and we don't want planes flying over the houses. waydar Summerfield FL.

Hi Doug....thanks for posting the link for the slideshow. I took the picxs then gave Lyman the camera and I didn't get back to send the link in time....you beat me to it. All in all, it was a great race day with some really good heats. It was good for a first time racer to win the gold race. Just shows that even beginners can do good. waydar Summerfield FL.

RE: Club 40 Racing Hangout
RACE REPORT 24 pilots representing 7 clubs in the area showed up for the February 24th Club 40 Pylon Race. We had at least four gents flying their first race. Additionally, this was the first time Spread Spektrum radios were used in our competition environment – they performed flawlessly. As most of us know, this race was to have been held in Lady Lake, but after that field was totally trashed by the early February tornados, the Ocala club offered the use of its field. Members of several clubs joined forces to staff the event, and AMA D-V AVP Jim Saiff was on hand to check out the races and to assist in PA duties. Southern Eagles Treasurer Tom Craig supervised the races while his lovely wife Hazel did registration and scoring chores. Tom also accepted donations from the Tri-County club as well as from those on hand. The AMA had previously made a generous donation to assist in their reconstruction. Three rounds were flown, with no mid-airs, but the pylons took a beating! Two racers, Doug Bebensee and Jonathon Carroll, had perfect scores. Dom DiDomenico was one point off with 11. There was a flyoff between those with 10 points; Jim Neelands, David Wall, & Tom Longo. Tom won and advanced to the Gold race. When the checkered flag dropped, first time racer Jonathan Carroll was the winner, followed by Doug, Dom, & Tom. Photos of the event were taken by Wayne Darnaby and will be available soon. We still have one standing complaint from the pylon judges; some of your model's race numbers are still too hard to see! They complain mostly of poor contrast. Please, gents, make ‘em BIG & BOLD! The next race is scheduled for JAX Gateway on March 24th.

RE: Club 40 Racing Hangout
The Southern Eagle RC Club from Lady Lake FL will be holding their Club 40 Races at the Ocala Flying Model Club field tomorrow Sat 24th. Their field was totally destroyed by the tornado about 3 weeks ago. Anyone in the area come on out and race or just sit back and enjoy. waydar

RE: DX-7 Defect
Hroasee and John.....i don't know what instructions you are referring to as I installed the antennas like the manual on page 15 says (see the picx in my post #68 of the manual).....the install was ok with the tech people at Horizon. Untill the manual is changed to reflect your way, I will continue like the manual says.....side to side and fore and aft. waydar

For those of you that don't have access to a Spektrum DX7 Manual this is page 15 that has been talked about. You can clearly see in the photo the direction of the antennas on both receivers. waydar

RE: DX-7 Defect
I mounted the receivers just as shown in the DX7 manual on page 15.....the ants could be run crossways and up and down I guess...it just says at 90°, but I just followed the book photo as a guide. I used 2 layers of high density foam to mount the main receiver and used velco hook and loop tape for the 2nd receiver. waydar Summerfield FL.

RE: DX-7 Defect
This is the plane that crashed last Sat with a fail safe mode in the receiver, that I posted about earlier. A completely new DX7 was sent out on Dec 21st but with Christmas it has not arrived yet. Hope it makes it tomorrow. I picked up 2 more AX7000 receivers from my LHS this afternoon. Tech support at JR was flying my radio this afternoon and still have not found a reason for the problem. waydar
