My neighbour's friend parked his 999 in front of my place, so I figured it would be a good chance to snap some pics of my r/c nitro 999r. The fairing on my bike is pretty beat up, I know... :(

RE: CX2 Aluminum parts info
It's spinning to the right? can you tell if the bottom rotor is spinning faster than top? You may not have tightened the screws underneath the spur gears properly. They have to contact the inner shaft on the flat spots, make sure you line them up with the flat spots, then tighten them down. To double check, hold the lower spur, then try and spin the top rotor at the same time, you shouldn't be able to move them...

RE: CX2 Aluminum parts info
While we're on topic about aluminum parts... Does anyone know if I use the microheli alu blade grips with the swinging blades (both upper and lower) will this reduce blade clack? Are the MH blades stiffer than stock? My CX is clacking like crazy, always falling out of the air...

RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!
quick question: I'm currently using the double tail motors and sometimes during flight, it seems as though the motors stop completely because the tail swings very quickly to the right. everytime I have to correct it very quickly or else it'll keep spinning. But oddly enough, sometimes it flies just fine... Another problem is sometimes the tail motors don't arm when I begin to fly, and I have to cut the main motor, wait for a few secs and keep trying until I see the tail rotor spin.

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
Ok here's the update... I switched back to the bell-hiller setup and the heli was much easier to control, despite a little bouncing here and there. I'm still using the e-sky center hub but swapped the spindle. The eflite spindle was about 4mm shorter, so that could've been a big problem. I bought the e-flite center hub but forgot to get the upper slider... Hopefully that'll make things even better. Thanks for all the help guys!

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
I watched the swashplate very carefully and without touching the left stick at all, I can use the right stick to move it up and down the shaft maybe 2-3mms of travel... This makes the rotor headset (part that holds the flybar) slide up and down on the center hub, which in turn changes the pitch of the blades. After the long weekend I'm heading back to the hobby shop to pick up some bell-hiller grips, this whole thing bothers me! [>:] edit: another theory could be pretty plain and simple... my local hobby shop gave me an e-sky center hub/spindle set claiming it works on the e-flite helis... I'm going to go back and get myself an e-flite one as it looks quite different...

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
ok I just checked the cp manual and it takes 3 bearings, not 2, so nothing wrong there. What I DO notice is there's lots of space/slop between the blade grips and the center hub. I can pull the blade grips in and out about 3mms. It's as if there should be some shims between the rubber o-rings and the blade grip. I only have the single stepped washer between the o-ring and the bearing on the blade grips. That's exactly as the manual states. It seems as though the metal spindle is too long, it can slide back and forth when everything's fully tightened... edit: I have another theory... My 3in1 gets pretty warm after just moving the servos around for about a minute (without even spinning up the rotors). It seems as though the servo mixing is messed up maybe. With cyclic inputs only, the swashplate slides up and down on the main shaft. So if I move the right stick around in circles, the swashplate moves up and down randomly as well, which in turn changes the pitch in the blades and causes the bouncing up and down...

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
Thanks! Why is it that I have 3 bearings and the spacer in each blade grip, where the picture only shows 2 bearings and a spacer in between.... Maybe that's my problem?

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
OK! So I've been fiddling around all week and finally noticed what's wrong. I'm still using the regular cp style head (non bell-hiller) and the heli keeps bouncing like craaazy. I realized that when I lean forward or backwards on the right thumb controls, the heli is changing pitch still. Not sure if this makes sense, but when I try and control the heli with my right thumb, it also seems to be affecting the pitch of the heli's blades. this is why the changing pitch makes the heli jump up and down everytime I try make cyclic inputs....

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
Thanks, I just tried swapping the washer and the stepped washer and it's a little better. I'm still having the same problem that I didn't mention earlier with rough landings. If I cut the throttle a little to land, it lands really hard against the ground. When I was flying with the bell-hiller grips, I could cut the throttle easily and make a light landing everytime. Is this just normal flight characteristics? I'm kind of leaning towards going back to the bell-hiller setup, it felt tighter/quicker and easier to control...

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
So I did the downgrade from the Bell-Hiller blade grips to the CP blade grips and the heli is quite erratic. It's much less sensitive, which I'm not really used to, but it seems to bounce in flight. I'll be hovering and all of a sudden it jumps higher in the air, then falls randomly. Anyone got any suggestions?

RE: What Next....Looking Ahead!
I just broke my blade grips on my cp pro and was considering the downgrade to the cp grips. Do I need to purchase the set of links that connect the blade grips to the flybar control?? Or would I be fine just buying the cp blade grips and using the linkage from the bell-hiller setup?

RE: New guy here!
Thanks! I understand the boom strikes, but was wondering how to prevent them in terms of the heli's setup? Or is it just a matter of not making hard landings? [:)] So far I haven't had any major glitches... yet! Once I put a g90 on the back, I'll try and fabricate a lower tray to mount the esc under the main gear. Thanks again!

RE: New guy here!
I'm soon thinking of putting a G90 there behind the servos, and I'm too lazy to extend the wires that far for now. [:D] In the manual, they place the esc under the main gear, but this chassis doesn't have the battery tray underneath... I looked at Nick Maxwell's? setup in another thread and followed that, removing the motor heatsink and lining up the esc straight down the middle. I also poked new holes in the canopy so it mounts nicely! Still curious about boom striking on my model though... can anyone go into more detail? here it is now: [image]http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/4223/dsc06629nc8.jpg[/image]

RE: New guy here!
Yikes... What makes this setup more prone to boom strikes? is the boom too long? (it's extended) or is it the aluminum chassis? Thanks... Also, I looked all over and couldn't find any info on dragonfly 22 and his heli?

New guy here!
Hey guys, I've been reading this forum for a while now and finally decided I should register. I got my Blade CPP about a month ago, previously flew a MS Hornet (fp) so this is my first CP heli. I've been amazed with how much info there is on this heli now. I also have a question... My canopy won't fit now with the brushless setup, the speed control gets in the way and I have no other place to mount it. Maybe I should try a canopy from another heli? Anyway, I look forward to be joining this forum finally! Here are some pics of my toy!
