Help flyng Ultimate 10 300
Hello, I have a omp Ultimate w/saito 100 16x6 prop, and it is super.. I am learning harrier and hoover, but with this plane I find a strange thing flyng with it: when it goes slowly and begins to harrier: I can't stop it to flip on the right and on the left (alieron movment). That seems me too much...... Is only that I must learn more, or is something to change in the controls? Excuse my bad english, (I am italian)... RE: manuevers
The Elevator: How to do it: The easiest way to enter this maneuver is to go up a mistake or two high, and dive straight down. once the plane is pointed at the ground, after making sure the high rate elevator is on , pull full up, and hold it. Do not release it or hesitate when pulling, that allows the nose to come down and the plane will try to start flying again, then the wings will start rocking, and it won't look very much like an Elevator. If the nose comes up when you pull and then drops again, you can either add a click or two of power immediately after the pull, or move the CG back a little more. Hello, I am italian and I can't understand very well the meaning of the above phrase written ib RED.. Can you explain me in other words more simple?? Thankyou Ciao

RE: My new Moyo 60 - little questions
ORIGINAL: basmntdweller Very Nice!!!! Right thrust is maybe a bit much but won't cause any major troubles. That's something that has to be flight trimmed anyway. I wonder why you are so tail heavy? My Mojo has same engine, similar servos, lousy covering job and a 5 cell 720mah battery mounted back behind the servos in the wing. My engine was also mounted as far back on the mount as I could get it. Mine balances about 2" behind the spar and is very comfortable there. It may still be a touch nose heavy as I still have to hold a bit of down for inverted flight. Recheck that CG. Your aileron servos will work but they are a bit weak. A couple more of the 635s would be more suited. The 635s are fine on the tail as is. I guarantee your english is better than my italian[:D] capisci?[:)] Matt
I wonder why I am so tail heavy too.... Perhaps I build with too much glue, don't know.....[&o] I added two more photos of details in the [link=http://www.olivotti.it/mojo/]PAGE OF MY MOJO[/link] they are number 11 and 12. In n. 11 you see that mine CG is 1"+3/8" behind m.s. that is more than what suggested on the plans: this measure a conservative CG at 3/4" behind m.s.. I think to be in a middle way between conservative and your twisty 2".... Do you agree? In n. 12 the levels says that the pitch down of the engine is only a very little.....

My new Moyo 60 - little questions
[link=http://www.olivotti.it/mojo/]My moyo 60 page[/link] Please visit my mojo page with photos! This is my new Mojo , but before fly it, I like to ask you some questions and checks... You can click on the images to enlarge them. Thank you very much and excuse my bad english, I am Italian! 1) My new Mojo!!!, do you like that? 2) 2 HS 635 HB in the tail, 2 HS 475 HB for ailerons, and 1 HS 81 for throttle. Battery 6V 1000 mAh 3) Engine is a new Saito 91 and prop an APC 15x4W 4) Total weight is 5,69 Lb without fuel 6, 7, 9) To proper balance I have mounted the engine more in the front as I couldt. And the battery where you can see it. There is good foam under it!There is something wrong in that? 8) For right thrust I have put 2 little washers under the front srew. Can you see it? Do you think is okey? 10)Are useful these elastics that I put on the 2 legs of the landing gear? Or is better I remove it for better performance of the landing gear?

Grrrrrrrrr [:@] I don't live in Lilliput!!!! Anyway I solved all the problems: When make hinge slots? I will do that directly at the fly field, perhaps attach the fuse too will done there.... Then crash the plane at the third flight..... so not have the problem for the way back..... We Italian are too intelligent!!!![;)]

RE: Hinge slots: When?
Ok, you right perhaps do it after covring is a cleaner job... But make it before covering was also better because was still possible to do some modifications to the line of the tristock trailing edge for prfect fit the parts, or so. When the pieces are covered nothing more can be done...... Anyway mine real problem is another one: I am finishing the beautiful Mojo 60, but I have not well calculated the dimensions of the plane.. and now I am sure of it: IT WILL NOT FIT IM MY CAR!!!!!!!!!![:o] What can I do??????[&o]

Hinge slots: When?
Hello! I would ask to you teachers: in a normal profile plane, like those OMP or Swany ones, when is the right moment to do the CA hinge "slots" on the tristocks? Is better to do them BEFORE covering, and then after covering I will cut the plastic cover and find the before made slots, then enlarge a littlle the area of covering around the slots, and finally glue the hinges? Or are you used and think better to do all AFTER covering? Thankyou and CIAO Paolo

Why my plane vibrate so much?
Hello! I am new in profiles, and just experiencing with my new OMP Edge 47" powered by an OS 46 AX and with prop APC Sport 12.25 X 3.75. With this configuration at max power the plane is all vibrating, making also a very bad noise..... The prop is well balanced (tried two of them) and I am fling without spinner... I changed the prop to a APC FunFly 13 X 4 and the vibrating is almost disappeard, but the engine become less responsive.... I ask: is normal all this vibrating? It happens to you too? Thankyou and CIAO Paolo

RE: OMP Edge....Almost there!
Very good!!! The test fly survived!! But not without little problems: 1) to have exact the CG at 1.85" aft main spar I had to advance the battery near the engine and put a little plomb on the nose. In that way it flies horizontal also inverted. 2) I had some trouble (some engine cut offs) with carburation the OS 46 AX. Solved with fuel 20% oil and only 5% nitro. 3) With the APC 12.25X3.75 I am afraid to go at max power because I hear the engine going too high with a prop so thin..... 4) When I feel the engine perfect: then I could fly well: It flies very beautiful!! But I need to learn a lot before doing some manouvers near the ground like hovering ecc ecc...... Anyway thankyou very much!!! At the field everyone is interested at my new Edge!!!!!

Hello! I have a little question for you: I can't understand how to use the prop nut of my new Saito 100. I'll explain: I have bought a Saito 100 from a friend and it came to me with a very long prop nuts that I cannot understand how to use them because they are too long. The seller told me that they are the proper prop nuts for a spinner, but I can't understand anyway how to use them and wich spinner to use. You can see some photos of the nuts here, please: [link=http://www.olivotti.com/aerei/saito100/]Saito 100 prop nuts photos[/link] If I can't use them easily, I will buy this part from horizon: [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByCategory/Product/Default.aspx?ProdID=SAI100135]Prop nut part[/link] perhaps this would be the better thing to do (?)
