RE: New 54
I think Rick nail the problem....If your useing a pull pull setup with wires, then make sure there is no slack in your cable....... I would be putting back the original rudder blade and go with water pickups through the bottom of the hull. Ive never had any issues with heat.

RE: New 54
Phil, I have 2 RCMK K30s in my CT03 and the water pickups that I use are brass tubes that I intall through the bottom of the hull. Like the ones in this link.... http://www.horracing.com/product_info.php?cPath=47&products_id=182 Never had a problem with them..... Rick would of done a good job on the build so Im sure the CG would be right. I would check your strut like dicko said.. and make sure your prop is sharpened and ballanced...

RE: New 54
You may need to take a few pics of the boat from behind and side on so we can actually see the set up.. What is your CG at? What drive are you using? Props can have a big effect on how a boat runs.... Pictures will answer most of our questions. Why did you change the blade on the rudder? I use that rudder on a ct03 and it works rather well.

RE: miss bud wont run
you can make a tool, if you look at your fly wheel. there are two threaded bolt holes diaginal from each other. What you need to do is get a peice of steel, not to thin as it will bend and drill 2 holes and thread them so you can screw bolts threw the steel bar and into the fly wheel. You also need to drill another hole in the middle of those two bolts and thread it so you can screw a bolt threw the bar and screw it up against the end of the crank. Once you have the two outer screws bolted into the flywheel you tighten the middle bolt thats against the crank and keep tightining until the fly wheel pops of the crank. hope that helps...if you understand what I mean

RE: miss bud wont run
have you check the fly wheel and make sure it hasnt spun and broke the fly wheel key. If it has then your timing would be out.

RE: broken shaft?
I had the same thing happen to me the other day, the shaft would spin and the prop would spin until I put it in the water, then nothing, shaft was spinning and prop didnt move. What it was, was the joint on the flex to the prop shaft had broke. Took the flex cable and shaft apart, cleaned them both and loctite the shaft into the flex, and now back on the water.

RE: Pipes
Ive ordered a deep vee hot pipe from Don, Now I just have to what for it to arrive. Bob, Im in the proses of building a SV43 and I have virtually the same set up, just dont have pipes for it at the moment. Was thinking of either a pair Zippkit stainless pipes or victory pipe from gizmo... How do you find the WD200 steerable drives? are they the Lenkstrut?

RE: Box Radio
Why not make one, you can buy a aluminium top, with locking nuts from Werner WD200. He can make the top to anysize you want and you make the box. Here is a link to the aluminium tops....http://www.wd200-modellbau.de/?RC-Box_Rahmen%2Fframes:Rahmen_Typ_2[image][/image][image][/image] Here is a pic of a radio box that I made for my turbine cat. I told Werner (WD200) the size of the aluminium top I wanted and he made it for me..

RE: engine
Rio 51 racer......it seems that youve already made your mind up with the quickdraw...... If thats the engine you really want to get, then get it........ me personally have never owned a quickdraw so I cant comment on those engines. I do own modded zenoahs and rcmks and with the right mods, pipes and props they do have plenty of power and there are parts readilly available...

RE: Water pump port?
[quote]ORIGINAL: danielplace Straight into the bore of the intake. The top is the best. If you go in the bottom offset it enough that you do not intersect with the integral pulse port passage for the carbs integral fuel pump. Use heavy wall hard vinyl tubing to maintain maximum pulse to the pump. Don't worry that this doesn't seem right thinking the intake manifold bore would be steady vaccum only as it is actually the strongest pulse you'll find that affects the engines state of tune the least. [/quote] works a treat
