Some of you guys are really over-reacting. Like someone said before, it will be at least 2 years before it might pertain to us kero-sniffers. So buy, build, and enjoy life, it's so short to whine sooo much.

RE: 2010 RCU Jet Forum Readers Choice - Best Turbine Company
Jet Central in my opinion has the best product and customer service, hand's down! I own a Rabbit (in a Sprint)and Cheetah ( in a Eurosport) and love the performance in both. As a matter of fact I encountered a problem at Hamburg last weekend on my Rabbit and received first rate help from Eric himself. By the way, I'm not from Mexico and have posted before.

RE: Eric Baugher's sudden passing
Ron, I just received a call and was told the sad news. As you know I spent alot of time with Eric on Friday at JBJR and took quite a bit of video with his Ultra Bandit and the maiden of it. Eric taught me alot about RC aircraft building over the last 30 years. He will be greatly missed. Please give my condolences to his family. - Bill

Jet Legends T-45
Has anyone in jetland built and flown JL's newest generation T-45? Would like some opinions on aircraft and manufacturer. I know they had some problems with elevator play but I believe that has been corrected. I have Sapac's electric version and it is a sweet flying aircraft. Thanks for your input!

RE: TBM 93
It doesn't fit in the TMP Zero. I have a 325 and it was going in the zero until I mounted it and found out #1 you have to cut the box down by about 50mm and #2 the cowl narrows as it gets towards the front and the cylinders on the 325 hits the wall before you get the correct distance from the firewall. Went with the G62.

RE: TBM 93
I just flew the maiden of my green Zero at Warbirds over Delaware. I had to add 2.5 lbs. of lead to balance right in front of the wing spar. Flight went beautiful, it really is a floater. I have a G-62 with spring starter and Slimline Pitts muffler in it.

RE: KMP F8-F Bearcat
I did remove 4 ozs. which brought the total weight down to about 17.6 lbs. I don't know of anyone flying this model at 15 lbs. The nose is designed too short.

RE: KMP F8-F Bearcat
I would start at 120mm like I did and adjust after maiden. Be ready to add nose weight due to poor nose moment design. Always fly alittle nose heavy on maiden.

John, I have the built-up wood wing and the covering is fantastic. No wrinkles or air pockets at all. I have mixed testors blue-angel blue and gloss black to get a perfect match on the touch-up.

RE: KMP F8-F Bearcat
Bruno, mine was 16lbs 5 ozs. and I had to add 37 ozs. of lead to balance it at a CG of 110mm. I am removing about 4 ozs. after my first flight, which the plane flew great but was alittle nose heavy. (which is good on a maiden). I am running the Saito 170 radial and I love it!

Check out Bokis's video on Vimeo of the Bearcat. He also has a 170R in his Bearcat. Mine flies exactly like you see on his video. There is another gentleman who has a 300 twin in his on this forum, but it does not have the speed (unless he is not throttled up all the way) that the 170R has.

You will love this bird as long as you power it correctly and set it up right. Warbirds can be a handful if not balanced and powered right. Talk to Andrew at KMP, he is the owner.

RE: KMP F8-F Bearcat
They are about $350.00. KMP retracts are I think are $200.00. You do get the metal wheels with the KMP version, but they are very heavy, do not fit good in the wheel wells because they are alittle over 4". I used 3.75 Robart scale wheels and painted them white.

RE: KMP F8-F Bearcat
I maidened my Bearcat last Sunday. It flew fantastic, except for gear problems. I have a Saito 170 radial (love the sound of that puppy) in it turning a 17x7 Zoar prop. Just like Bokis will tell you, it is in it's element when flown fast. CG is 120mm, but was alittle nose heavy, so I am going to try 130mm. Presently she has 37oz. of scuba lead in the nose, sounds like alot but it flew fast and landed well ( had to belly land due to gear problems, no damage at all, it floated in with full flaps). Like I said, the KMP retracts are the only weakness this baby has. Alot of slop and unreliability even though I probably put about 15 hours in on the gear alone. KMP is going to replace the retracts, but if I did it over again, I would buy Sierra retracts and struts. I have talked to Darrel and have seen his product at Sierra and he has been very helpful as has Steve at KMP, but let's face it Darrel has a much better product (you really do get what you pay for). Can't wait to get the gear fixed, move the CG, and fly the Bearcat again!

Has anyone had any problems or has added any right thrust with this aircraft. I am about 85% complete on this aircraft and curious on its good and bad flight tendencies. I am putting a 170R in it just like Bokis has. Have done quite a bit of modifications also.( 35 hours so far) Thanks for replies! - Bill

RE: Just received the new sport SM Jas-39
Why would you not fly this aircraft with a P-70 ( 16.5 lbs.of thrust ). The JAS should weigh out around 19-20 lbs. That's plenty of thrust to weight for good performance. And I guess the key word here is "good". I plan on using the P-80 which is only about a gain of 1lb. of thrust and have been told by skymasters that this is a perfect match.
