The leading cause in flutter is not gap but linkage so is you have flutter look to you servos, rods first then gap

RE: Sig Kadet Covering ?
Please I really do not want to start another mono vs ultra debate, but as you stated that you are a newbie I will recommend ultra as it is more "user friendly" than mono, I personally use mono for the reason that I do not like the way ultra is semitransparent compared to mono. there is a learning curve to mono but practice you get better results every time, at least I did and I am now at the point where my projects are comming out pretty good. Still need more practice on the compound curve, That will be that same for you no matter what type of covering you choose, you will get better results the more you cover. My first covering job was on my trainer CG Eagle 2 and what a mess it was but I was proud

RE: Getting Sick of this!
You guys are going about this all wrong, still debating the same thing again. What the OP has a problem with is Internet sales and marketing. He has to understand how the Internet works, it works with "key words" the more you have that are in the "general" catagory of your item the more People that will have exposure to you item and the more likely you will sell the item. So to the OP's rant you will have to get better at searching or get used to weed through all the crap that you don't want.

RE: Four Star Forty dihedral
well yes, but by you post count I should not have to tell you the problems you will encounter if you remove all of the dihedral. If you are going to remove it you want to remove NO more than half. you also have to fabricate a new dihedral brace. my 4*40 3 years I think was lazer my hog bipe about 1 1/2 years ago was lazer.

the reason that I recomended a 4* was that you can easly go off plans and mod the plane and have fun with it before and after pics

RE: Next kit suggestion
get a Sig kit they are great, I had the 4* 40 (RIP) and I loved that thing I am now building a Hog Bipe. The cool thing with a 4* it is a relatively quick build and very easily modified air frame that you can have lots of fun flying and building it.

RE: Goldberg Chipmunk ?
I have that plane with a saito 91 at 7.5 lbs dry and it flies great. I do prefer a four stroke over a two stroke. I use a 14x8 MAS S-2. The 82 will work but there is a crazy sale at hobby people now for a Magnum 91 for like 130 bucks

RE: Monokote....Never Again
OK, here is my take on the ultra vs MK debate, ultra is easier to work with but does not look as good. MK is harder to work with but looks better. The opacity of MK is very nice, and when compared to ultra, ultra looks almost transparent. My point is if I am going to spend a lot of time building I use MK and spend time covering, because the guys cannot see the inside craftsmanship only the outside

RE: Hog Bipe Build - 2009
my hog had a crash and the Interplane struts cracked, I believe that they are made out of 1/8 popular ply (light ply) I have in spare lumber 1/16 birch ply. do you think the switch would be ok? I have been flying my Hog over a year now and it is my favorite plane. I did at first have a lot of problems with nose over, because my CG was set all the way forward until I was used to the plane, when I started to move it back the nose overs stopped. I have a saito 100,and it has so much power I could almost hand launch (though I would never try it).

RE: Sig Hog Bipe Cowl
my covering is deep red, true white, black, monokote and they do not make deep red lusterkote anymore so a fiberglass cowl will not match the covering, I am on the fence about even building a cowl but I will keep this thread open for a few days and see any one has ideas. I know that fixed cowl is a pain but I have not built one yet and the only problem that I am having is how to remove the engine after cowl is built

Sig Hog Bipe Cowl
maybe some one can help me with this problem. here is what I have I am building a Sig hog bipe with a Saito 100, i want to mount the Saito at 90º and build a balsa cowl over the top, I have a GF engine mount with nylon locknuts for the engine to mount, how to get to the back of the engine mount to hold the locknut? or do I have to use a different style of mount/bolts for this application if so what do I use? I have not yet built it but from mockup it would seem be very hard to get the lock-nuts after the balsa cowl is built
