RE: SECRETS OF THE MINI ULTRA STICK
nice review. I have the 25e ultra stick . Something I did wich realy works on saving the nose on a front end crash was to add a piec of 1/8 ply over the existing piec I made it identical as far as the air holes and engine mount holes, I made it just large enough to go all the way to the ends of the frame and then glued it over the old one on, it transfers the force over the hole fuseloge on impack. I have only had one chash since then and it was a hard one, the crash was hard enough to break off the prop at both ends. I did a straight in nose dive while trying to land in the wind. the plane flipped over I tried to power out but just flipped over straight into the dirt. I put on a new prop and was back flying in about 10 min just thought this would help. take care bill.

RE: Hanger 9 Pulse XT
Hi proptop what kind of flight time do you get with that set up? I am setting up with the e46 cc60 and the ubec, as for batteries I have not orderd any yet. hz said to use th5300 5sp . I do have 4, th4200 3sp pack that I use on other planes, all with e25 engines, I would like to use them but I am not sure about how much time in the air I would have? any thoughts thanks bill.
ORIGINAL: proptop Nick... Seeing as nobody else has answered your question, I will give it a shot... I have a Pulse with an AXi 4120/14 and use a 4S1P Kokam 3200 pack My set-up is capable of 700 Watts... It will leap off the ground (no wind ) in about 30' or so, with a 13 X 8E (thinking about trying a 13 X 6.5E to get some more r.p.m. ) What sort of power is your set-up capable of? This airplane will fly quite well on less power than I have...but I have a feeling that your set-up should be capable of close to the same power level as mine? Welcome to RCU
RE: E-flite J-3 Cub 25 ARF
well I now have 7 flights on my new cub the first 3 were ruff take offs. I think I have it under control now. I start out down the grass run way with up elevator, at 1/4 throtle in about 25 ft she starts to lift off, you do have to make slite rudder adjustments, I ease off the elevator and let her clime out slowly. I am useing the 12x6 prop, 25 motor,45 amp castle bec and the 4200 tp pack great set up. On the timer I am flying 10 min , on charge I am putting back in 2200 to 2600 mah , on my last flight I was flying inverted and doing loops and rolls ,she looks great and flyies great too!

RE: Park Flyers: Which is best for the beginner?
ORIGINAL: Red Baron Juststarting I'm looking for a fairly realistic looking (Piper Cub, military, etc.) but inexpensive, RFT park flyer - one that I can easily fly in parks and other confined spaces. I'm relatively new to RC, but have a Futaba 6 Channel Radio - (channel 39) so all I need is a plane equipped with servos, receiver, etc. Any recommendation for such a plane (and why) in the approximate range of $50-125 or so? Thanks. Bill
I second the super cub. parts are easy to replace, a roll of packing tape and you are ready to go. At are club there are many that have found this plane to be a good starter, my self being one. I have flown this plane in 15 to 20 mile winds and inverted. Now that being said it was after about 70 flights on that plane and a few wings and nose cowlings. a pilot at a club can help you get started with this plane it is just not as easy as being on a buddy cord. slow sticks are great if you have no wind! I have found out you can not belive everything you read in these forums! you do get some good ideals but you have to take it with a grain of salt. I have been flying since feb of this year I have logged over 100 flights on the supper cub and over 110 flights on my ultra stick e25 and 7 flights on my new j3 eflite cub with the e25 motor. I am now putting together a pulse 40xt with the e46 motor I should have it in the air next week if all goes well. Crashing is just part of flying it happens to everyone, so get the super cub and have fun its a great 1st plane.

RE: Hobbico Electristar Select EP Trainer RTF
plane is going back to the factory to see why the ecs is getting blazing hot and then she starts shutting down when flying. the plane is a great flyer just hope this problem getts fixed at the factory before they send it back to me. The ecs is getting real hot now. After I run the plane for 2 min the motor starts to surge, and then she shuts down. I bench tested her on 3 different battey packs same problem with all three sets, I also used the same battery packs in my other plane and no problems. I will let you know how the factory handles this problem. the other plane is not an electristar.

RE: Hobbico Electristar Select EP Trainer RTF
I flew my new electrastar last week for the first time. Then two times this week end. The plane was great. I maxed out on my radio setting on the first flight. I went home and reset every thing and presto she was flying great . I am working with A trainer to learn how to fly. The first flight went great about 9 min. The second one I did the take off and flew for about 9 min at half power. I have been having a problem with the engine surging at times? If I speed up the power level all the way up then all the way down then back to were I want it the surging stops any I suggestions as to why this would happen? I am using two 3000 mah batts NMH. I am getting about 10 min of fly time at half speed any suggestions welcome. I am verey happy with this plane.[8D]
