Have you tried using split washers on the wing bolts? They'll keep them tensioned. Wingco

RE: Hangar 9 Blue Nose BEWARE!!!!
Hi Ray, I had a similar problem on one of my spits, namely that I oculd get a screw that fitted anywhere. I suggest that you get on e bay and look for M6 x 70 allen bolts (I think you call them socket heads?) That did the trick.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
Hello all, I have a 72" YT Mk 14 spit and had a small (ish) fire in the workshop which chomped through the rudder and elevator of the spit. Luckily the fuse was saved without a mark on the tail fin or stab. I managed to get hold of a new rudder but YT (UK) tell em that they have no spare elevators until the autumn. Does anyone out there haver spares? Happy to pay top wedge for them and shipping etc. Regards Neil

RE: H9 Spitfire Build
I've had a few hard landings and a couple with the same results as you. It may sound like a cop out but even when repaired the retracts mounts never really hold out for long. Easier to get a new wing, like you said.

RE: Hangar 9 spitfire crash
Ouch! Heart breaking, especially the bizarre moment when that idiotic glimmer of hope floats through your mind that 'it might be ok' as you head towards the crash site. Beautiful repair job. Know what you mean about the spit shape, I never get tired of just looking at it. Wingco

RE: Hangar 9 spitfire crash
Ok that's not working. If you click on my gallery at the bottom of this box there are a couple of before and after shots. Really is worth doing. For the record, mine is an electric, eflite 110 with Phoenix HV110 esc and 2 x 4cell 14.8v lipolys, pulled along by a 17 x 10 prop. Tried the suggested eflite 60 and whilst it did the job it didn't give much scope for big loops or vertical climb. Very happy with this set up, also dumped the plastic exhaust stubs in favour of a pair from Mick Reeves. They're for a larger scale but cunning use of spacers on the inside of the cowl meant less exhaust showing through (you have to cut slots in the cowl). Sprayed the whole thing in clear mat and the improvement is very satisfying. I've had about 180 flights out of it so far, but have a YT international Mk14 just about complete, so may semi retire the dear ol' H9.

RE: Parkzone Supermarine Spitfire Mk11B
Stand easy, men. Apologies for the absence, various reasons for that which are either too tedious or happily historic to go into now. For your delight and delectation I managed to attach a small camera to the air scoop of dear old P7350, the results have been uploaded onto Youtube. Simply go to the site and type in Wheelsdown or Hangar 9 spit and look for that tag. Take care all Wingco
