RE: Is the season at an end for you too?
Dont know if anyone here is north of Seattle, but here our problem is rain and wind. the temp here doesnt really drop until January and February, but as soon as novermber hits its rainy and windy almost every day. finally got a break today and re-maidened my showtime after waiting for weeks since finishing the rebuild [:D] And i must say that i feel just terrible for you guys flying on a chilly 70* day [;)] but its going to start snowing at stevens pass any day now, so id call it a fair trade. ski season here i come! RE: rhino transmitter lipo
yes, the hobbico is lipo rated 1-3 cells. the only reason i am asking is because in the description on hobbyking it states that there are two discharge leads (one for futaba and one for JR) and one charge lead, which is also the balance lead. im worried that if i charge it through the discharge leads it might damage that pack in some way.

RE: Mountain Models Cessna 180
Thanks for the reply, i skimmed through the manual and it looked pretty well done. pictures show that all the parts look nice and clean cut. and from what i can tell they look like they fit together nicely, as you said. also thinking about setting it up with led lights for fun :) i looked the eva in the site, couldnt find an eva bipe, looks like a great little plane.

RE: New to electrics, Crash Survivability
ive had an eflite 370 outrunner for a good 5 years and its still running strong. havent popped and speed controls or burnt anything out, yet. but cmon honestly it doesnt take long to realize "oh shoot thats a tree" and cut the throttle before something burns up. i agree on the bent prop shafts though, ive bent (even broke a few) but its a really easy and cheep fix. if your going to be flying planes with landing gear than, with good landings, it shouldnt be a problem at all. if your flying planes with no landing gear than a prop saver might be a good idea, but they dont work with high speed props at all! so, if your not going to use a prop saver than just bring it in for a gentle landing and it should be fine.

RE: Young Pilots Forum
Yes thats correct . You don't have to have a big expensive plane to have fun and joy your flying buddies . All I'm saying that it would be nice to be able to afford the better stuff thats all.
thats exactly right fly boy 2. the joy of flying is all that matters, no matter what you fly [:D] ya it would be nice to get a new plane or heli, but its kinda fun to work with what you got. and i like building my own stuff [8D] esspecially when they fly great... though buying new electronics is a different story (the stuff is big $$$) [:@]

RE: Stupid Laws That May Affect Our Hobby
Wow this is so stupid, kids eating parts ?!?!? c'mon what do they take us for? as for the california laws.. ya that sucks. and i agree, its people that think they are dangerous when they are perfectly safe in the right hands. ive taken my mini showtime to the park and there was a family watching and as soon as i did a blender and pulled out of it 30 feet above the ground the mom had her kids get in the car because "Watch out! it looks like it could go out of control!" [:@] even when i landed and showed her that i was perfectly in contol of the plane she still wouldnt belive me! now i dont go flying at the park because im scared some cop is gonna show up and tell me off for doing low aerobatics or something. and im only 15 so that doesnt really help much. so now im confined to my front yard which is still pleanty big to fly most planes, but im limited to large park flyers. even though i dont live in california i could imagine this happening anywhere. and my city is pretty relaxed about stuff so i hope nothing like this comes my way.

Hi all, Due to a recent encounter with a tree the leading edge of the right wing on my mini showtime is pretty much totaled. Im going to rebuild it but i need to make new balsa wood parts. Could anyone lead me to an accurate wing-rib diagram for this plane? ive googled it and found nothing. Thankyou for your help! wings

RE: GWS Beaver
Have you checked your servos?? they may not be centering proporly or you may have broken a servo gear. this could very easly be the cause of the bad flight characteristics. servos do wear out over time and leaveing it sitting the sun on that bed could have screwed something up. hope this helps!
