RE: Young Pilots Forum
[quote]Yes thats correct . You don't have to have a big expensive plane to have fun and joy your flying buddies . All I'm saying that it would be nice to be able to afford the better stuff thats all.[/quote] thats exactly right fly boy 2. the joy of flying is all that matters, no matter what you fly [:D] ya it would be nice to get a new plane or heli, but its kinda fun to work with what you got. and i like building my own stuff [8D] esspecially when they fly great... though buying new electronics is a different story (the stuff is big $$$) [:@]

RE: Stupid Laws That May Affect Our Hobby
Wow this is so stupid, kids eating parts ?!?!? c'mon what do they take us for? as for the california laws.. ya that sucks. and i agree, its people that think they are dangerous when they are perfectly safe in the right hands. ive taken my mini showtime to the park and there was a family watching and as soon as i did a blender and pulled out of it 30 feet above the ground the mom had her kids get in the car because "Watch out! it looks like it could go out of control!" [:@] even when i landed and showed her that i was perfectly in contol of the plane she still wouldnt belive me! now i dont go flying at the park because im scared some cop is gonna show up and tell me off for doing low aerobatics or something. and im only 15 so that doesnt really help much. so now im confined to my front yard which is still pleanty big to fly most planes, but im limited to large park flyers. even though i dont live in california i could imagine this happening anywhere. and my city is pretty relaxed about stuff so i hope nothing like this comes my way.

Hi all, Due to a recent encounter with a tree the leading edge of the right wing on my mini showtime is pretty much totaled. Im going to rebuild it but i need to make new balsa wood parts. Could anyone lead me to an accurate wing-rib diagram for this plane? ive googled it and found nothing. Thankyou for your help! wings

RE: GWS Beaver
Have you checked your servos?? they may not be centering proporly or you may have broken a servo gear. this could very easly be the cause of the bad flight characteristics. servos do wear out over time and leaveing it sitting the sun on that bed could have screwed something up. hope this helps!

RE: combat wing airfoil and stuff
Go to lowes buy some FFF (about $30) then check out this site. [link]http://home1.gte.net/texhills/index.html[/link] i built one a while back it is a very good flyer, pretty fast and a good glider as well. three tips if you do decide to build one: 1. STALL=DEATHSPIN!! 2. make sure your CG is Perfect! i had to play around with it to get it right. 3. when you are bending the foam heat it up with a hair dryer, it really helps Hope this helps!

RE: E-flite park 480 problem
Looks like I had the same idea as cyclops. I took it to the school shop today and pressed it out with a drill press, when it's not turned on of course, and used a blunt steel rod the same diameter as the shaft to push it out. even got the motor put back together and just got a flight on my mini showtime in useing that motor [:D] thanks to all that replyed!! -wings

it's probably just the torque from the prop. it can't be trimmed out you just have to correct with right aileron

RE: Flying a plane in the movies
E-flite had a 370 sized cessna, although i think then don't make it any more. you could probably find one on e-bay. look on hobby-lobby.com, they will most likely have an RTF or ARF cessna. what movie is it?

RE: Glide testing?
I do the glide test with NO electronics in the plane. i just put some weights in it to balence it out then do the test. Also DON'T do the test off of a high structure, if it isn't right it usually ends in disaster! for the first toss do it from a very low altitude. good luck!

[link]http://www.spadtothebone.com/freeplans.htm[/link] on the tabs at the top of the page click on 3D/Novelty it is the plane at the very bottom. Built proporly it is an awsome little plane. it harriers at less than 2mph. and yes, it does take a beating! it is very capable of flying in a small space. hope this helps!
