RE: plettemberg..... incredible service!
See: http://www.plettenberg-motoren.com/UK/zuxtra.htm This bracket/propmount is directly over the large ball-bearing, spreading the load. This will only work if the motor is mounted 'before' the nose ring.....

RE: CA Model XURAMA BIPLANE Build Glow Powered
Are you gone add an other former in front of the landing-gear plate? (or on top)? The momentum of a hard landing will try to bend to LG-plate frontside to the bottom of the plane. It will easily tear your fuselage. A support former will spread that force over a bigger part of the fuselage. Cheers Winfried p.s. Ignore my above: I didn't look at your pictures in detail, you already made that former [:D]

Anyone knows if the DX8 has got 'conditions'? Meaning if you pull for example full up-ailerons-and rudder, you switch to 'snap' conditions Thx Winfried

RE: How different are all the F3A models?
Hi Mark Here in Holland, pilots with F3A ambitions can take small steps flying easier schedules. This will allow them to concentrate on the basics of F3A/Pattern like straight lines, geometry, positioning etc before the start flying the 'P' and 'F' FAI schedules. For this 'easier' classes, you can do very well with the 'older' F3A planes and you can choose from a wider range of planes. If you go straight for FAI-F3A class, then the more modern 'high' fuselage planes are the way to go because these planes will help you trough the the sequences much easier. But if you are not that experienced yet, and want to start in the FAI-F3A then also the older planes can be a price worthy choice as you will need to learn the basics anyway. What good is it if your plane can snap perfectly but you do not know how to position your plane or compensate for crosswind etc.? Then also, some pilots fly there Integral , Oxalys for such a long time and have setup it so well, that they still can beat the newest planes on the market.... So choose wise..... ;-) Have fun flying (pattern)

RE: Micro Pattern now a reality?
Nice to see that more people build their own planes with the spectrum building blocks The one in the pictures is from my friend Andy from the UK, build from 3mm EPP. It's a scaled down version from the F3P plane called 'Afriel' so this one is called the 'Nano-afriel'

RE: Mini Scalar
Hi again I have seen this plane fly in the time where NiCad and brushed motor where used. With 16 NiCad cells the plane flew very good and had enough power for good aerobatics only not enough capacity for a 10 minute program. Nowadays when using Lipo/Brushless you will have a great flying plane for training precision aerobatics and compete up to the higher classes. The design is not comparable with todays high fuselages and will have difficulty flying knive-edge loops , rolling-loops and all the other complex sequences which exist in the current F3A programs. Cheers Winfried

RE: 09 FAI schedules?
A question: In P09, is figure #8 supossed to be flown 'out-of-the-box' (top-line wise)? If I read the aresti correct, figure #7 (triangle from top) is started at the top-line, so you end at the top-line, Now when you start with fig #8, you will have to fly the 3/4 loop above the top-line. Or do I read things wrong? Winfried

RE: AXI 5330
HI, Did you set the timing of the controller to the highest value? I'm running the Hacker Acro 90 with 30 degrees of timing, this really brings the motor alive. and provides a big enough speed range. For really calm wheather i'm using a 21x12 APC-E, works fine aswell! About the slowing down before landing, i'm slowing the plane down a lot on final, and then fly it in with some power. This high nose attitude makes beatifull landings. Good luck Winfried

RE: Power Source for Chargers
I agree with the Generator way to go..... Tried carrying around deep-discharge batteries, but they didn't last long on the field, and are more heavy then a generator. I bought one of these Kipor 1300 (the red one, not the sine-master), much lighter then the batteries, run's the whole day on 1.5 liter gas. And you can put up to 4 chargers up to it without any problem. Yes it's more expensive at the beginning, but after the second or third battery ;-) Have Fun Winfried

RE: difference between 3D and F3A?
Howdy Ruud, Search on modelbouwforum.nl for the video of Derk van der Vecht flying the Funtana S140. Having flown the old-funtana for a while for both 'freestyle' and precision, I think this is the best plane to combine both flying styles in one plane. Hacker is selling the Funtana S140. RE: axi 5330 - funny noise!
Hello James, wat are the timing settings on the controller? and the switching frequency? will be difficult to find out, but can you determine if it is indeed a mechanical sound, or a combination of controller settings. Is it only on the ground, or only in flight? How much RPM are you running? You can try toe set the controller to 10degrees advanced timing. Good luck. Winfried

RE: New F3A Contest score management software
Just 2 let you know, and without any intention to 'steal' this thread, or start a discussion about what is best, but: - also take a look at www.f3ascore.com This software is database driven, very easy to use - schedules, judges, pilots, contest can be set up by yourself. - therefor usable for all kind of aerobatics competitions, from indoor to IMAC - several printout's per pilot, round and total score - inclused TBL calculation , drop high-low - judge-analyses Currently in use for the Dutch and Belgium F3A. And belgium F3M (Large scale aerobatics)

RE: Funtana Pro from Exclusiv Modellbau - help
about the CG: Start at center of the tube or slightly behind that. The Funtana can be flown with a large range of CG settings. The moment you need to give down, to fly straight, you will become in the danger zone when landing. The speed will disappear very quick..... Have Fun Winfried
