RE: LA7 Info / Research / Build - Scale Wings
Mario at Seidel Props sent me these photos this morning of my new 32x18 prop for the LA7. Looking forward to seeing which Seidel Prop works best 33x16 or 32x18... My family is in the middle of a move to Maryland so it will be a few months before I can get back to this LA7 project.

Packing sucks; only seems to get harder but almost have all my hobby stuff packed. It surely isn't like my Navy days with just a seabag or two.

I will be picking up two of the 1/4 scale SiSt FW190 on Wed… But it will be a bit of time before I start on either one of them because I found out today my family and I will be moving to MD for a new job. Once I get the kit, I will post whether it is a model A4, A8, or can be either with included parts.

A quick search of wikipedia to compare the look of an A4 to A8, makes me believe the new 1:4 scale version is an A8.

I will have to do some research so that I know the differences between the two.

Is anyone aware of this plane being rc modelled before? Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-8 of JG 4, flown Pvt. Wagner; the aircraft was downed by american anti-aircraft fire during operation "Bodenplatte". It was captured by american troops after making an emergency landing. The ETC 501 was removed and the engine repaired for ground trials.
ORIGINAL: BeasleyBunch Glad to read you are pleased with your Seidel prop. Since I have changed engines from the EVO99 to the Moki 150 I have been interested in looking into the Seidel prop. I have sent several emails, via their web site, looking for a quote/delivery for a 1/4.5 scale 190A prop, but so far no response...? Any suggestions?
I know that Mario at Seidel is extremely busy with business; one of those things when you make a great product. He told me that he is on his third version for a prop for my Turbo Raven to make sure it is just right before shipping it. Talk to Götz at www.teamaeroscale.com; it is my understanding that Götz has the rites to the U.S. for these props and that is who I have been purchasing them through. Just a note, the wait time is about four months from the purchase date.

It looks like the group stripe were made offical in February 1945... 20 February 1945 "B.Br.Nr.2/45 g.Kdos. Subject: Jagdgeschwader Markings Encl: 1 By the order of the Reichsmarschall and for purposes of improving aerial recognition, Jagdgeschwader aircraft are to be marked by fuselage-encircling colored stripes as indicated in the appended enclosure. Attention of troops down to platoon level is to be drawn to these markings which should simplify the recognition and distinction of our own aircraft." Unit Colour of Stripes RLM Designation ... J.G. 54 bright blue (24) I could use some help with determing the correct color for the JG54 Bright Blue? I see RLM 24 Blue, but I am not sure I would consider this Bright Blue.
ORIGINAL: germrb John, I saw the kit the other day for the first time on Gotz's website. Thanks for the photos, very impressive. The item that caught my interest was the spinner/fan assembly. I have been trying to talk myself into installing a Moki 250 in my 1/4 scale La-7, but am very concerned about the overheating. The FW spinner in close enough to scale, if it will fit. The addition of the fan may aid the heating problem. Would you please post the spinner/fan dimensions. My cowl is 12" with an 11 1/4" opening. Happy 4th,
Bob, I will send you the measurements as soon as I can...

I am very pleased with how the rudder turned out... Have to say I was a bit nervous there for a while because it was looking pretty bad with all the cutting I had done to the rudder. Now just need a bit more bondo around the horn and some additional sanding.
