RE: Official NITRO RUSTLER thread!!
ORIGINAL: ss34ever I just ordered a new traxxas nitro rustler, its my first nitro car, am I in over my head?
I have the new Rusty but been racing and running nitro for years. The directions Traxxas gives for this truck are excellent. You almost can't go wrong as long as you READ THE DIRECTIONS. Most people just read what they think is enough to get the truck running and that gets them into trouble. Read all the directions completely. After you do that then read again and follow the process Traxxas outline in the directions on how to start and break in the truck and you won't have any problems. I can't stress enough the follow th directions. The biggest problem I see at are hobbyshop with RTR vehicles whether electric or nitro is customers in a hurry and don't read and follow the directions. I have found the Nitro Rustler is a really nice all around truck. They do everything you could want in a nice RTR truck.

RE: Official NITRO RUSTLER thread!!
ORIGINAL: daywalker121800 No the rustler is not a 2 speed. It still goes pretty fast depending on which motor you have in it. As far as durability, it does ok for itself but just remember..... any truck that can hit 50+ mph and crashes into something is going to break. You can buy a lot of different parts to make it more solid which most people do and that helps, but no matter what if you beat the He** out of it then it will break sometimes......if it doesnt then you are doing somthing wrong....lol Good luck man
Couldn't agree more. You beat it the truck will break, you hit stuff at 50mph it will break or you don't do maint it will not last. Also remember aluminum is heavier than the stock plastic and it might not break but it still bends and if it bends just a little and you can't tell it might affect the way the truck works and you might not be able to solve the problem. Aluminum I think is nice for the rear hubs especially as it keeps the bearings from getting beat up so much. Most alum parts don't do much other than add some bling bling. They are a crutch but don't not a cure all.

RE: hows the nitro traxxas rustler
The Nitro Rustler is a nice truck. I decided to race one on are local dirt oval track. The truck has ran great. The stock 2.5 runs perfect and broke in easily. I raced a Jato on the oval before that and the Nitro Rustler works as well or better for me. It is also a lighter truck by a good amount. Overall you will be happy with the truck. Makes a great basher and also runs pretty well on the track. It is very reliable.

Help finding plane
Man years ago I use to have a plane that had wings made like the US AirCorp planes but the framework of the plane was small square aluminum tubing. I can't remember the name of the company the plane came from or even if the company is still around. The plane I found in a r/c airplane magazine many years ago is how i found the plane and ordered it. Anyone happen to have any ideas on who made this type of plane or anyone know of anything like this. Thanks Brian

RE: GV2
The Gv line is a 2wd buggy and the Sb series is a 4wd buggy. The convert the GV2 RTR to a GV2 Pro you will need (I don't know all of but I do know some it). Adjustable turnbuckles, ball diff, slipper clutch setup, threaded shock bodies to name a few. Your better off buying the Pro version as it would be cheaper in the long run. Converting at RTR to Pro versions from any company is the more expensive way to go.

977 dual charging of lipos
Is the 977 capable of charging two 4900 2C lipo packs at 4.9 amps at the same time. Looking at this charger since it will do two packs but not really clear on what it can do when charging two packs at once? Thanks Brian

RE: not fair
It does seem kinda strange to ban avatars. Seeing someones avatar does not make me want to go out and buy something from that company. I been to plenty of other websites that have huge amounts of traffic and have to feed somone but don't have such strange rules. I guess its their sandbox and can do whatever they feel like. If we don' like it we all have the ability to go elsewhere.

RE: schumacher riot-going to get it!
ORIGINAL: 125cchyperman Schumacher's are hard to get parts for, if your want to race and your only looking at those two then I would go for the Rusty, but if you are willing to look at other vehicles I would say take a nice good hard look at the Team Losi xxx-nt (has a nice radio and electronics for a RTR) and the Team Associated GT2
Parts are only hard to get if you don't know how to use a telephone to call Schumacher to place an order. Just call them and Shawn or Adam will answer all your questions. Also your local shop can order them as well thru Schumacher. Always gets me when people say parts are hard to get. People never mind order other stuff off the internet or phone so wish is ordering R/C parts so hard.[&:]

RE: NEW FG BAJA BUGGY!!!!!
Thanks for the pics. It just makes me want the new FG Baja even more than before. It will be my winter project. Want to buy one and get the alum motor mounts, either the FG pipe or Samba pipe for it, and a few other things to have it ready for spring. Also a wild paint job.

RE: NEW FG BAJA BUGGY!!!!!
Does the new FG Baja have more ground clearance than the normal Marder? By looking at pics the Baja looks like it has more ride height because the new tire and rim combo look taller overall. If so that is great.

I think with a tight coupler it shouldn't be a problem. I know with that type of exahust that sometimes it happens. At least it is an easy fix.

Anyone know what pipe they show on the FG Baja on the Large Scale RC site? All the pics I see in the the ads have a black tuned pipe of some type. Looks like it might be the Samba pipe. I like the one in this pic.

RE: FG Marder vs hpi BAJA
Did you put one in and did it seem to make the fit and finish even better? We thought when it was all done with the added bearing that it made for a even better fit that without the bearing. My buddy just finished redoig his diff with the bearing and the the Turtle Alum diff housing. Really nice. I know he can't wait to try his car out now.

RE: FG Marder vs hpi BAJA
When your doing maint on your diffs how many are missing bearings from the factory? Everyone of the Bajas are shop sold in the last few months is missing one diff bearing. We redid 3 diffs today and all where missing the same bearing. I agree with normal maint. Done this for24 plus years and understand they need work and especially RTR's. I did see on the new SS version Baja coming out these use alum diff cases so i figure it wasn't just for looks. The new kit version SS looks super nice and for the price is a great deal.
