RE: Savage Carb Issue - VIDEO
took the carb apart and seems there is a pretty big piece of metal shaving lodged in the side of the side where the idle screw is located. I'm going to try and file it down. No idea how or why it's like that but it's clearly not suppose to be like that.

Savage Carb Issue - VIDEO
Hello all. I was in the middle of breaking in my Savage X and all of a sudden the truck would not respond very well to throttle. I was in the middle of tuning and getting great performance as I adjusted the HSN but then the truck got really slow. I checked all the links and servos and everything looked fine. I just took the carb out and see that the slide will only open about 1/4 to 1/2 of the way. It feels like something hard is keeping it from opening all the way and not debris or something. Anyone had this issue and what should I do to find out what's keeping the carb from opening all the way? I've never had to do any major carb work so any advice will be great. Here's a short clip showing the carb. It will close very smooth like normal but when it gets about 1/4 of the way open it stops and cant be forced open any further. http://s52.photobucket.com/albums/g35/SoLo64bit/RC%20NITRO/?action=view¤t=VIDEO0069.mp4

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Can someone shed some light on how to program the ESC? My bullet flux has the Mode Table in the manual but the XS doesn't have a table that shows all the ESC modes and options for change. I don't want to have to buy a ESC program card.

RE: Turnbuckle Tips
ORIGINAL: SyCo_VeNoM My MT2 lost at least 3 dogbones that way then I started painting them bright colors so I could locate them easier.
Aint that the effing truth. I'm over here thinking I should get some 20lbs fishing line and tie the f**kers to the bumper or something. The bright color paint is a good idea but would hate to have to do that because I know it will look like s**t. The ball cups are just way to weak to hold up after the smallest crash. I need to do something soon and make sure it's done right because I'm sick of searching for them all the time.

Just pulled the trigger on the HPI Savage X 4.6 It sucks that Tower Hobbies doesn't have 1 hour shipping. :( For years I've had to watch my friends bash their Savage but never thought about getting one myself. The XS has been a hella fun but I think I'm ready to try the BIG brother out!

RE: savage x 2.4 radio system questions
Does this only happen from a distance? Is your throttle servo grinding gears or failing? Fresh batteries? Try and rule some issues out here and narrow it down.

RE: My T.H. order is all here! :)
So far I have been running both the MT and XS on 2S 20C 5000 Gens Ace Lipos. I see that the HPI site says the MT flux can handle 3S. Would I need to change out the gearing on the MT to handle 3S? My Savage runs perfect and I don't care to try 3S but the MT being a little bigger I feel could use the extra power. I don't care about more top speed as much as more off the line punch power. So would I need to change out the swap out the stock gear?

Thinking about pulling the trigger on this summit. Will be my first Traxxas RC. Would rather have the larger 1/10 but price is just more than I care to dish out.

Turnbuckle Tips
Anyone out there have any tips on making turnbuckles last? My savage keeps losing them and i'm really getting sick of buying more. I don't do any hard bashing like jumps and such but keep having my turnbuckles coming off. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

RCU Forums slow to load - time out
Been a few days and I've noticed that the forums have been slow to load. I did a trace route and see that after 15 attempts the servers Have timed out. After a few mins of waiting the forums will load as expected but then stop loading again. I ran a console command for tracert on http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/ with every attempt timing out. Anyone else having this issue?

RE: My T.H. order is all here! :)
ORIGINAL: Team GxG Awesome bunch of trucks! I'm especially interested in the Bullet MT Flux. It seems to bridge the gap between the XS Flux and the full sized Savages.
The bullet MT flux has so far been a lot of fun. The ESC was super easy to program and has a ton of power on 2S 5000mah. It will flip over on it's back when I hit the throttle(punch power on ESC 100%). I did have to mod the battery box a bit so that the deans connector would fit snuggly inside the box. The truck has taken some nasty spills and the only issue i've had was a turnbuckle came off. I found it, snapped it back on and went back out. :) Also TH sent me some killer coupons that brought the price down $50 so I couldn't pass it up! PLUS THE REBATE!!!

Can anyone suggest some decent upgrade shocks for the XS? Was looking at some proline shock from tower but they are $50 for rear set.. I'm looking to spend around $20 or so.

So, I got my bullet and XS in today. Setup ESC and ran a 5k 2S pack each and these kits FLY! The Savage is wicked fast. I just have one issue with the XS..Why the hell is there not a POWER SWITCH!!??! [&:] Also had the bullet flux take off on me while setting up the ESC..apparently I setup the neutral as full throttle and when I turned it on after saving settings it took off at full speed..lol
