help picking out a motor for MOJO 40? using a123 setup..
Hey guys, I have decided i want to go electric. the Mojo 40 is built, and it is ready to cover, now the powerhouse of this thing... i need help. I am was planning to use a os 50sx with 8oz tank so total weight would be roughtly around... 14oz engine w/o muffler 8oz tank 2oz misc Total of 24oz A123 battery.. i need help deciding between 5s1p or 5s2p. the problem with the 2 parallel that it will be a bit on the heavy side. I was going to do just 5s1p pack. But flight time is decrease significantly.... So what i need help is with the motor. i need something that will hold this plane up around half throttle with flight time at least of 6 min. it this possible? the plane is around 4-4.5lbs ready to fly with a .46 engine.

Sig Wonder Conversion for Speed Setup help??
Hey guys, I am in the process of building a sig wonder. I originally planned to put a 25 nitro on this thing. but the more i think about it, the more i want to start in electric. To start out, i dont know anything about electric. and I've googled and tried to search as much as i could on the conversion for the Sig Wonder and cant find much information. So, for the setup, it would be nice to have stuff ordered from Hobbycity.com since i'm gonna make a order their pretty soon. and i've been looking at their motors and they got good ratings from users and fairly cheap. Here is some info about it.. The weight on the box is 26-38oz. but I am assuming that is with a glow engine mounted, they recommend a glow in the range of .09-.19 I would think 38oz. corresponds with the .19 sized engine but I'm not sure. I also don't know what a .19 sized engine would weigh. This is the size of the fuse that i can fit stuff in. Length: 11 1/4" Width: 2 1/4" Height: 2 1/4" I've read some thread about conversion. And there is def a difference between a speed setup and a leisure flying setup. and i would love SPEED for this plane. Can anyone help me out? Thanks guys!

Mojo 40 or primo profile? will os 50sx be enough?
hi guys! ive been out of the hobby for about 6 months now and i've been flying only the sim. Well i got my taste back again today. took my something extra out and flew it!! it was amazing! now, im want to start building a 3D plane that i can mess around with. i was thinking of the primo, or the mojo.. i dont know exactly what the flight characteristic difference is. my question to you is will a OS 50SX be enough power for one of these babies? also, your suggestion on a 3D KIT, not arf... i like building my planes. Thanks.

Small 3D Glow Planes!
Hey guys! First of all, i've been away for awhile. School, and not enough money! =P now that i have a job i want to start flying again. I've been out for the last two years, and wondering if there are anything good small 3D planes that i missed out on? small as in a glow plane that i can fly in a huge park. around the size of .25 engine for 3D capabilities? I remember i was trying to buy a bright, yellow and pink plane. It was really small. i completely forgot the name of it. If anyone knows, this would help a lot! Thanks!

FIRST AIRBOAT! please help!
Hi guys.. i'm an airplane guy for about two years now. and this summer i'm kinda out of money and dont really want to go out and wreck some of my planes. so i figure Airboat would be the next big thing for me. i've been searching around, and for my first airboat i would like to use coroplast because it seems it would be the best and easiest to make. beside i still have a sheet or two from my last SPAD airplane project. i currently have an extra thunder tiger 40, and extra recievers and servos. i'm now looking for plans and tips for the forum. i need to be educated on the basics of building an airboat.. the do's and dont's. also, i need to know center to gravity for the project, what type of hull would be best for grass and water fun. how wide and how long it needs to be for a 40 size engine. what size prop? thanks a lot for helping!

i dont have a tach. but i just put another tank on this engine and this time there was a little less.. i dont know if its new or something. btw, i just got this engine today :]. but i ran the 12x5 again and it was a little better. what prop would u recommend at the altitude for pulling a sig something extra?? and how do i adjust the transition, its lags when changin from idle to full, especially when i leave it idlein for 30 sec. as for the engine vibration, what else can i do to minimize this?

NEW OS 50SX help...
Hi guys.. its summer and its time to get my planes up and runnin again. well today, i got a OS 50SX for my sig something extra. i just got done with the engine break in and i noticed that the engine shake a lot. i dont know if its suppose to do that, but when i hold the needle valve my fingers can barely stay on it because of the vibration. the prop that i'm using is a master airscrew 12x5, and for sure my prop is balance. do you guys know why and how i can fix this because i dont want this great engine to go to waste, thanks a lot!

lol that looks great!! the kit was easy to build.. spent two straight days work on the plane and got it done! but now looking back, i can get the wing to have zero wash out if i needed to. but the problem i'm having right now is that i dont know how many degree of wash out i need to set the wings to, any suggestions? as for the extension of the control surfaces, i extended the rudder 1in out and still dont know if i should do counterbalance or not, as for the elevator, any suggestions of how much i can extend it to get a good 3D surface? and counterbalance? any suggestions would help a lot. sorry bout the relay update, school starts again and i'm stuck with homework most of the time!

here are some pix on my build last night. i stayed up tilll 1 and almost got the right wing panel done. today i will apply the sheeting to the botton, TE, and sand both panels. so far i did not come into any problem. as you can see in the pix i used tee nut so i can later use a nylon bolt to hold on the wing. sorry bout the late pix. got the cam working yesterday.

RE: Another SIG somethin extra build... help
ORIGINAL: blwblw The nose of the plane is to the left. This isn't a good looking fin, but it works. You can see several holes drilled in the bottom. I used the most convenient one. This is made from aluminum, so it weighs almost nothing. The pic is marginal due to the glare of the flash.....
umm.. im sorry, but i dont know what you are talking about... i can try to see thats a landing gear right? and what do u guys think that i would use the insulator foam as my building table?? it will be placed on top of a piece of plywood.... and is there any ways that i can make something that has a 90 degree angle so i can make the wing ribs perfectly upright?
