Thanks for the help! Is the smoke normal too? Seems like the flame out the bottom could cause damage mounted in the airframe. I could be wrong. Rich

Is there any update on this model? Feibao has a nice camo painted one on their website. I also saw some pics posted in the FIJR thread. Hope to see it in action soon. Rich

Smoke Between Exhaust cone and body
Today was a great day. I fired up my new P-60SE with kero start on a test stand for the first time. First time i have ever ran a turbine. it was definitely a cool feeling. All went well. started on the first try. a few small flames when it was starting. The question i had is one of the small flames seemed to come out between where the exhaust cone and body come together. for the couple of minutes i was running it there as very light smoke that seemed to come from where the exhaust cone and body meet as well. Should this be a concern? thanks for the help Rich

RE: Electric smoke system - Smokewinder
Smokewinders would be the awesome. I was thinking of ways to make this work a few months back. i was thinking of coils as well as something like the kero start plug that jet cat uses. im not sure how long something like the plug would last though. Would definitely be cool if they existed though. Rich

RE: JetLegend F-16 (1/8) Testflight
Hi Assaf, Great looking F-16. What are you planning on powering it with? Is there anyway you could take some upclose photos the the main gear door cylinders? I need to rework mine as they dont open quite far enough for the wheels to clear when they are retracted. Thanks, Rich

RE: Turbine start-up procedured..
Prior to purchasing my first turbine, I read as many different manufactures turbine manuals as possible. They will describe everything from setup to starting and shutdown. Most have them available on their website. In the end i ended up going with a Jetcat as they were the only one of the three i was looking at (jetcat, jet central, and wren) that offers Kero start. I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. Perhaps the best way to get to know these things is finding someone local and seeing them up close. Rich

RE: JL F-16 Gear Door Issue
Hi Mike, Thanks for the reply. Im going to see what i can do about them this weekend. I think the toughest part is going to be actually getting the hysol off the surfaces. Im going to try and reuse the hinges as i dont have any more and really dont want to wait for more stuff to get here. Ian, I like your idea about the spacer. Hopefully that takes care 1/2 inch i need to get out. Rich

RE: JL F-16 Gear Door Issue
Thanks for the replies everyone. I have removed the ball joints and the doors still dont open up enough. Looks like i need to trim or rehinge. It looks like the edge of the door is actually hitting the outside of the fuse. This leads me to believe im going to need to rehinge them. When i bought the kit JL was redesigning the landing gear. The plane was set up with a set a gear though (doors and cylinders installed) at the factory. All of the mounting holes were there and all i needed to do was bolt it in when it came 2 months later. Unfortunately its really not even close to working. the doors need to open up a good half an inch. thanks again Rich

JL F-16 Gear Door Issue
Im trying to set up my air system in my JL F-16 1/8 and the doors just dont seem to open far enough (they were installed by global jet club). when the system is actuated they make contact with the door and will eventually roll past if there is enough pressure in the system. If pull on them to get the gear to go in the fuse actually flexes so i can see they are at their limit. Ive already had 3 hinges unglue from the fuse. Any Ideas would he helpful. Thanks in advance, Rich

RE: New Comp ARF Spark EDF
Tam, with the 8s setup how long are you expecting for flight times? 5+ minutes with the ability to do 160+ would be awesome. I would also like to see pics of the swiss scheme spark. The jolly roger would be pretty cool as well. Rich

RE: JL 1/8 f16 or SM 1/8 f16
Hello, I cant speak for the Skymaster but I am in the process of building the Jet Legend. The Jet legend has gone together very easily with no hangups and is of very nice quality. The main reason i chose the JL is because of the scale landing gear. The gear looks great! Both of these f-16s seem to fly very well and im sure you wont be disappointed with either. If you decided on the JL i would suggest talking to Mike Lin at the [link=http://www.globaljetclub.com]Global Jet Club[/link] . His customer service is top notch and the paint jobs his team produces are great. Here are a few photos on the one im in the process of finishing. Rich
