RE: Spectrum Lock Loss problem
ORIGINAL: rcairflr
ORIGINAL: yokomo_drifter theres an a123 plant next to where i live, they also sell them to the public
Being close to the plant, do you get a discount price on the cells?
late reply.... being close, i dunno, but if you go to there website they only give an option to buy a developer kit but i believe going in you can purchase loose cells i plan

dont want the ice go to FMAdirect.com get the cell pro 4 im using the kokam lipo-502 and i can charge 3 lipos at once with there adapter thats only 10-15 extra bucks not like the other companies that charge up to 30 for a 3 dollor circuit board i can buy for online and 95 cent plastic peices and dont go venom to much the triton is way better get the best and longest time from your batts

RE: What charger should i go for for the $$$ VALUE
look with the chargers the have today dont get a regular charger (non-lipo) get one that does it all incase you upgrade batteries there very close in price...... personal choice would be the ice but the triton jr is even better i use kokam its very small like 6x4 inches and .25 thick and charge any battery exept a123 cells and i can charge 3 at once you could also look at orion clubman chargers or if your a racer hard core get the venom and you can use it with a pc, just a few to list but if you have a budget stick with it like the ice would be a very good choice

RE: I'm a bit confused about Nicads.
it all depends on what your using them for and the warmer they are the better they charge and better run times when they charge at 4 amps or more dont use a charger that pulses you could contact any nicd manufacturer and they tell you the same

RE: fast brushless?
just get the vxl from your friend and they trinity speedgem brushless it a tunable motor you can adjust the timing with a 2s lipo you'd be just fine 50 for esc you say, 60 for speedgem (i say) vs 60-70 for vxl motor.... you can tune the speedgem for about the same price and you can increase speed when you want by turning the endbell........ remember the faster you go the more you break
