replacing the chassis does sound good thx i have broken the center shafts several times now they seem very week or is an os 18 too much for a magic wheel.

RE: Spektrum AR500 rx "ROCKS"
I first tried the xtremelink and after loosing a couple of planes gave up altogether on 2.4ghz until now. I just purchased my first spektrum after seeing tons of happy fliers at our field. I purchased a dx7 with servos, an ar7000, two 6200's and four ar500. I am in no way trying to say that the ar500's are inferior receivers; I hope they are not because I have 4 of them now. My concern is wether you can use the ar500's on larger four channel planes say between 60 size and 1/4 scale. Obviusly these receivers have to have a reduced capacity at blocking interference and having a secure link vs the conventional full range spektrum receivers or else all spektrum receivers would look just like this one. In other words what is the limit for these receivers???

!!wow!! thats great always love an uneventfull maiden. uneventfull meaning it came down in one piece. so how did it handle with just one engine, did you angle the motors out when you built it or did you just lay them flat? It's great to hear of someone actually flying this thing and not just the creators. Makes me want to finish mine quicker. Some pictures of field and air action would be great......

scalenutz, well I have medium to large hands and needed to remove the servos to get my hands to where the windows needed to be. right now I need to install the linkages, control horns, and engines so pretty much everything still left to do. but it's finnaly moving along much faster.

looks real good but you will probably have to remove 2 servos to get the windows in. I am still trying to get the last front window on mine. as there is no way to hold it from the inside.

RE: FMA Announcing Cellpro 10s Charger
received my 10s and had to solder the balance plugs on my a123 5s1p because there is no way to charge without them. but wow what a charger it took the a123's from about 2 v per cell to full in about 12 minutes and they didn't even get hot. its easy to setup but you have to get used to it I would of liked an approach similar to the accucylce elite were you have memories and couple more buttons to make it easier to navigate. but I guess you dont need memories since it knows how many cells you have because of the balance plugs. but so far great. ps. the power supply from the accucylcle does not work on this it reads over 16v supply ??? anyone any insight. It reads 13.2 with a voltemeter.

yep zenoah 20's already have them and with the bennet mufflers. electrics seem like a bad choice thought of it but when the maximum prop diameter is only 13" if you go with anything larger you will have to cut into the fuse for clearance. And electrics seem to make power comparable to combustion only with larger props.

wow it really does fly and well too!!! Can you shed some light on the whole setup used on the one in the video. Also were there flaps involved in any of the footage. The low pass, the roll to inverted, and the landing were great, it really has me wanting to finish as soon as possible. So was that landing with or without flaps? Was all of that flying done with the recommended control trows? Please please edit in a takeoff as I want to know what to expect!!

well once you build a few arf you really dont need a very specific manual, but this plane does has some key items that are specific to a dc3 and I wish those were addressed somewhere in the manual.

RE: Lithium Battery for 9c Radio
the problem with the inexpensive small nimhs is that they dont take any punishment without dying. I have had 3 of those so far and for the tx and the first one lasted 6 months the second has lasted about 3 months and the third is in my uncle radio still going strong for about 4 months. They don't like to be quick charged at more than a .6 amp charge. ohh I also have them in my small planes at 4 and 5 cells but they seem to last much longer in there maybe its the constant use of the transmitter or something that also causes them to fail.

RE: kmp d3 due november 30th i just ordered one
the plane's clear coat and overall finish is perfect except for decals and cowls, the zenoah 20's smallest recomended prop is a 14x6 so a 13x8 3-blade which is a little more load is the obvious choice still it will be spinning very high rpms in the 9's probably but still within the engine's recommended rpms. master airscrew makes a 13x8 3-blade. I currently have a cessna from h9 with a g26 and a three bladed prop and I think it actually picked up power with the three blade over a larger diameter 2-blade.

RE: kmp dc3 due november 30th i just ordered one
the letter decals and the detail of the cowls are the only bad points. The engines will mount very close to the fuselage so it might actual fly with one engine given the right angles. The kit quality is tremendous and the retracts are very scale and look really good real heavy duty also look much stronger than that robart crap. the hinges are all robart style except for the flaps which are pinned hinges I guess. I already hinged all the surfaces and it was pretty straightforward (epoxied(30 minute) hinges to the moving surfaces first). If you want a plane to have hanging from some tall celling then it will look great as everything has great lines and a stellar fiber glass job. If you want to fly it then I still cannot recommend it until I get it into the air. Setup so far: 2 Zenoah g20ei, 5955 on each elevator, 5645's rudder and ailerons and maybe flaps or new micro 5245 for flaps retract and throttle. 2 futaba 8ch pcm receivers, 2 2cell a123 for receiver, 2 4.8 nimh for ignitions. 8 ounce fuel tanks. the zenoahs stick out of the cowl but not as bad as I would have thought and with the bennet built muffler I should have very little problems. Shipping was 100 to Florida (I purchased it from Chief Aircraft but it shipped from here in Florida)

The wing is glued together with wood spars holding each side to the center piece. and then it is held to the body by palstic screws The retracts are the best part of the plane they look very scale will post pics soon

RE: kmp d3 due november 30th i just ordered one
Ok so I will post pictures very soon, now so far It looks like its 6 servos for wing three servos per side throttle, aileron, flap, 2 servos for elevators one for each, 1 rudder, 1 retracts valve , 2 for inner flaps one each, for a total of 12 servos and a minimum of 6 channels. I still have not gotten to the tailwheel but its probably secured to the rudder so no extra servo there. The plane looks better and better each time the model itself is great apart from the decals. About the cowl flaps nope none actually the cowl has very few details, and has a plastic look when compared to the rest of the plane. good thing I will be hacking them soon to fit the g20s.
