RE: Redcat vehicle repair/tune FAQ
[8D][X(] Ok fella's I got the Tornado XP the other day, and did an initial heat cycle on the engine to do the first stage of the break-in process. The car was a little hard to start, I used a little bit of throttle trim to help ease the starting process, it ran quit well ( 5 tanks already, variable throttle and no more than 1/3 throttle at ease ). A little rich so it will only run at idle with the glow igniter on, will run if you keep the throttle up a little though. But here is my question, and I know there are going to be a few hairs pulled here, but here we go: Why is my LHS Low Speed Idle Screw on the side of the carburator turned out from factory 3 full turns, not the 1 1/2 -1 3/4...???? >< The HSP High Speed Needle is set at 3 full turns as well. This I am sure is right however what about the " LHS " should it also be 3 full turns out?????????????????

RE: WALKERA 60
[8D]Hey hey hey, long time no talk. I have gotten my other 60 and back in action. I am still using my standard junk but with exceptional 2600 mAh TX batteries. I just took the RX out of my broken chopper and put it in my park flyer Mustang, that son of a B flew like a dream and not one glitch. That sucker was freakin' fast too, I took the Align out of my chopper and put it in the Mustang. Holy Shi That sucker went approx. 100MPH and again no probs. I'll have to show you all the video you're gonna laugh I forgot to strap the battery in place and lost CG OOOOOOPS [X(][>:][:@][8D][8|][&o] Keep your blades off the grass[8D]

RE: WALKERA 60
[:@]AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took my 60 out for a fly today after I had re-tuned my esc, and it flew great. I have tried some 2600 mAh recharchable batteries in my Tx and wow that's what it needed. I could have had a great day but no Li-po's yet, however I have 11 yes 11 650 mAh 'ers ( Ebay 2 for $0.99 ) and I was charged for some great flying. I set my bird down for a fresh cell pack, put it in and went into the house for a coffee. When I came out onto the deck I saw my son on his qaud heading for it,[:(] CRACK : it was too late, now I have a parts 60 and will be getting another. But try those batteries in the stock Tx you'll be suprized how far she'll climb and still remain total control with NO glitching. I have read your forums and I must have had the radio that they used in the promo video 'cause I DO NOT have any glitching. I also rerouted my reciever wire to the outside of the frame not through it from factory. Looking forward to my new 60 [;)]. keep your blades off the grass[:)]

For the money you can't go wrong, look for a good deal. Don't be afraid to spend some bucks on upgrades though New Brushless Align Motor, Speed controller, Tx and Rx, Blades, Li-Poly Battery, Charger, Head and linkages to alloy and so on and so on.[:)] I got mine for $1.12 + $34.83 shipping off of eBay direct from the factory in 8 days ( China [:D] ). If you want to tinker a little, this machine is extremely versatile and agility is key in it's design, however if you are new to the hobby PLEASE do not be afraid to purchase one of the 60's as they can be tamed right down to a nice hovering aircraft. RE: WALKERA 60
well did some more work today. I removed the Jesus bolt and off with the head. Tightened all of the necessary items and put it all back together. Put in my battery wound it up, but not quit enough juice to get her up. I pulled up on the main shaft and re-tightened the collar at the bottom, now there is no vertical play in the main shaft. Do I need to re and re anything after raising the head and reducing the vertical slack???????

CAUTION look at the mAh on the charger (400mAh) and the mAh on the battery (650mAh) = 1hour 40minute charge time.

RE: WALKERA 60
Eh' it's me again[:)] I think I figured it out, I bought a brushless motor and esc and installed them. Hooked up my 650 Nmh and let her rip, well holy cow that sucker friggin' ripped, I ran it for about 30-40 seconds and saw a whiff of smoke enter the rotor wash from above the motor so I shut it down NOW. I checked the temp. with a digital thermometer and got 173 C, that's when I called for your help[:(]. While I was working on it this evening I noticed that the esc was a Tower Pro 35A - 40A Max. and that the motor was only a 16A rating[X(] What a Dummy[:@]. I am going to order the 15A version of the esc and see what happens. It was the motor not the esc but thanks and check out MY bird you'll see my brushless.

RE: WALKERA 60
[:)]Hey guys I got mine today, I lubed it worked all the throws and balanced the blades. The speed controller to motor wire I rerouted through the frame and behind the tail rotor linkage, also wrapped the wires so they will not rub on the frame. I then removed the motor and hooked up the battery and hit the red button, I ran the motor under no load at variable RPM for a few minutes then cleaned it with spray then reinstalled it just a little more snug this time ( gear mesh not sufficient on mine would have stripped in no time ). A little lube on the pinion gear while here wouldn't hurt, and loctite the motor bolts. Also loctite the JESUS bolt on the main shaft as well as the bolts for the blades both front and back!!!!!!!! I used a few zipties, the factory job is not bad, just because I like it neat. I put it all back and started it up, just hovered left and right but I'll get a full charge tonight and we'll see.

RE: Walkera 36 or 60
[:D]Well I just opened the box and all seems well. The battery had a partial charge, enough to see it rotate, so I went ahead and lubed all the parts and checked out all of the servo throws. I then removed the blades and balanced them on a gram scale and they were a match. I zip tied the wires up and away, not a bad factory job, but I like it neat so I went to town with a few zip ties. Also I rerouted the wire from the speed controller to the motor through the frame and behind the tail rotor linkage , wrapping the wires in electrical tape so they will not rub on the ALUMINUM Frame.......... I removed the motor and hooked up the battery and pressed the red button on the speed controller, make sure your transmitter panel switch is on N and not #1 as this will be full power, I ran the motor at variable RPM with no resistance for a few minutes then spayed it with cleaner and put it back in. When I reinstalled the motor I moved it back ever so little just to insure a snug mesh on the gears ( Lots of tourque here folks ) stock had too much play and would have stipped main in no time. Also a little dab of light grease goes a long ways on the main gear. Well blades back on and in went my cam, the battery still had some juice so I sat on the floor and just hovered rotated left and right, but maybe tomorrow I'll have a good charge and the wind will be gone and get some air beneath me....[:)][8D]

Well mine is on it's way and we'll see what we get!!!!!!! With the new updates it should have similar characteristcs, however a little more stability in the Aluminum Frame. Mine will be stock as I will want to ad some after market hop ups, but for now only days away. Good luck to you and all of us who have purchased or are thinking of it, keep posting and reading.
