RE: JAE GAS Rigger video on YOUTUBE
I'm helping David Hall test his design bfore it goes to Joe for kitting that way we know the design is proven especially since we are using a stock RCMK engine tod the testing next one will be using a stock Zenoha so everyone will have a good comparison between the engines.

RE: JAE GAS Rigger video on YOUTUBE
Yes the wind was blowwing ptretty hard at times. Plus rain and Hail too. Even had a radio glitch that sent the boat into the shore luckily it didn't hurt anything too bad.

JAE GAS Rigger video on YOUTUBE
This video was taken Sat 3-13 during the test session in Huntsville... The boat is the prototype JAE gas boat with a "box stock" RCMK rear exhaust motor....[the motor is turning 16,600 rpm] The only smooth water was right in front of the drivers stand....this video does not do justice as to how rough the water was during this test run. The new JAE gas boat does absolutely nothing stupid in any water conditions.... This run was with a Voodoo 7520 prop......We have several 3" plus diameter props coming to try and all indications are that 75mph will be attainable with this JAE/"box stock" RCMK combo.....[we haven't even set the head clearance in this motor yet] We have another gas boat prototype in construction and the same tests will be run with a "box stock" 260 Zenoah.... http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Oav0nqHRIhU Note:Once again, the only adjustments required on this boat are prop selection, pipe length and needle valve....

JEA prototype GAS rigger hits 70mph today
Day started out rainy but we still met up at the lake when I got there, I started to drive down with the reterieve boat and got stuck then a new boater in our club showed up with a big Dodge deisel and I thought he might be able to snatch my GMC 2wd truck out but instead he also got stuck with his 2wd so we decided to go on and boat. We got set up and it stopped raining but the wind kicked up a bit and it got colder we set up the JAE gas rigger with a new Prop Shop 7520 back cut prop and tossed it in checked it with the radar gun and guess what we finally got it up to 70 MPH wow a 5 mph pick up in speed with a prop change really cool to see a stock out of the box RCMK EVO rear exhuast engine push a boat to 70mph. How neat to have a $300 dollar engine do that.. We have some more props to try out an a few more small set up bugs to work out but the JAE Gas Rigger is looking pretty good. David Hall has some video he is sending up to Rod G and I'm sure he'll be posting it as soon as he gets it.

RE: RC Boat to take out a line fishing line - your wisdom needed
As stated prior the distance your trying to send your R/C boat is is not realistic due to the smaller size of the model. as for releaseing the fishing line a simple clothes pin spring type will work I have used this on an air boat to retrieve a dead model boat. Pinch th eline between the jaws of the clothes pin and when you get to where you want to drop the line just take up the slack and yank the pole like your setting the hook it will pull from between the clothes pins jaws and go into the water. Simple and easy.

RE: Oct 19 to Oct 21 HUNTSVILLE, AL Speed Record Trial
Thanks Ron We have a few guys coming in from FL and some from Chitown and a couple maybe coming from STL. We should have a good turn out if the weather holds. Next April we have plans in th eworks for a format that will really have some records broken we are working the the city to get stuff in motion. If all goes correct and on time it should generate lots of interest. Can't go into too much detail unitl the city gets their part completed.

RE: does anyone make single blade props
In control line speed events they used use single bladed props I don't know of any used for RC boats but it could work if the correct counter balance were used.

RE: DRILLING STRINGERS
I have used this method for a new boat with no fuel residue. Mark wher eyou want your holes and get a set of vise grips and a 10 penny nail. Clamp the nail in the vise grips and heat the nail point until it's cherry red and burn the holes that you want works great but do not do it around a smoke detector. Seal the holes as you would if you had drilled them usually with CA glue.

RE: RCPBA, Classes for RTR Racers!
One thing boat racers can do and have done in the past and would most likely have to do if they started thier own organization is to locate their own lake site and just start their own club and offer whatever classes they want at their races they hold. Instead of starting up a whole new organization just join an existing organization. That is the least amount of work for a new group of boaters. You get to race your style of boats on your on lake site and use the support system already set set up by the existing "not for profit organizations". IE. Safety rules, running rules, web site, and other services already provided. I know both NAMBA and IMPBA would gladly help out a new club with any kind of help, they request in getting set up and finding water to run on. If you look back a few years the Gas powered boaters had the same problem they would show up at some races and and e told they could not race so some of them just started their own club and joined an existing organization others worked with the nitro clubs and showed them they were willing to help them hosting the races and work at the races if they offered classes for them to race their boats in. As for the organizations not supporting the RTR's, why do you think both NAMBA and IMPBA have for the last 2 years and back in 2000 had exhibitions classes for the RTR boats and are now also offering Exhibition classes where GAS, Nitro, and FE boats all run together in the same heats? Both boating organization are interested in growing and all realize no matter what type of boat you choose to run we are all model boaters and need to stick together.

RE: RCPBA, Classes for RTR Racers!
If the organization has insurance for the membership and site owners why isn't that fact mentioned on the web site? How much insurance is the organization actually going to provide and what type insurance is it? After shopping for insurance the first of this year and finding the cost has almost tripled from what IMPBA had been paying. I'd be interested in contacting the provider to obtain a quote for insurance for IMPBA in the future?
ORIGINAL: RedBullVegas Mr. Zuber, Thank you for replying to this post, I feel honored that the president of IMPBA would oblige us with his presence. Although I wonder where you have been since rules for RTR boats were being discussed? As for your questioning of Insurance, RCPBA carries the same insurance that IMPBA carries General Liability and Personal Property Insurance for each member and GL and PPI for each property. I appreciate your concern for our well being.
RE: RCPBA, Classes for RTR Racers!
Only question I have concerning the new organization what are the dues going to provide to the members besides a set of RTR rules and classes? What type of insurance will the new organization have for the members and host clubs and lake site owners? Before you send in your dues you need to have these questions answered.
