RE: The FIRST Glow Engine You Ever Owned-remember?
Norvell .061 in a little scratch built trainer. Then an O.S. 40SR in a Balsa USA stick plane in about 2000 that I still have today.

RE: t-maxx tranny ??
ORIGINAL: trx1 found the pair of boxes for $2.00 will change the air filter out sometime this winter will look for the OG tranny for this ill be getting a set of alum bulks over the winter(integy) may get alum braces also (dont know about those yet) would alum steering rack be a good idea or not?
Id get the alum steering rack. much stiffer and youd have more responsive steering. especially if it has ball bearings.

RE: Older T-Maxx shock problem
Cut some half inch sections of fuel line and slip them over the rods. Helps to keep them from bottoming out so bad. Either that or lighter weight fluid.

RE: Street Force GP Engine
Ive had an OS 18CVRX and the one way slipped pretty often. Ive got an airplane starter and thought of using a rubber wheel on it to use as a bump start to avoid the hassle. like this- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXL402&P=7 but who knows.. maybe ill just go with a pull start.

Street Force GP Engine
I just acquired a used street force gp from a trade on here and Im wanting to put a new engine in it. The original velocity 15 seems to have good compression but it needs a one way bearing and recoil and the input shaft doesnt seem to catch on the crank very well. Im thinking maybe an OS 15CVX or a 12 size engine if I can find one with rotary carb and pullstart. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

RE: Engine trouble
your clunk could be flipped around to the front of the tank. Take the plane and give it a good shake. Im not kidding, thats all it takes to fix that problem if thats what it is. Before that youshould gently shake the plane to see if you can ear the rattle of the clunk and if you dont then thats what it is. or you could have a pinhole in the fuel line. If there arent any obvious leaks then it could be inside the tank.

RE: Any Suggestions for my First Build
the boat that i did had the exact same internals like the motor, shaft, electronics, and gear reduction. I made it direct drive with a stock motor before i went to the 550 and i got about 15 mph out of it but the motor got really really hot so you might wanna consider a 550 motor and cooling system. I used a heatsink and it worked pretty good but i ended up doing water cooling. heatsink- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJHA5&P=7 water cooling- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMTZ6&P=7 550 motor- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXF54&P=7 as you can see it would be hard to do on a $50 budget

RE: Any Suggestions for my First Build
well you could probably go with the epic motor or get some sort of stock motor since they are usually reataively cheap and high in torque then get an esc like the duratrax streak since the stock one would probly get smoked with any more than the motor that came with the boat. Then get a shaft, rudder, and a cheap radio system. You would probably also need a pushrod boot to seal the rod going to the rudder. rudder-http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMNG9&P=ML boots-http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMNK4&P=ML motor-http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBSU9&P=7 shaft-http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCSZ1&P=ML servo-http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDEL5&P=ML esc-http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD523&P=ML radio-http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXB01**&P=7

RE: Any Suggestions for my First Build
I tried that with a nikko Island Cruiser and put a 12v 550 motor and LRP esc on 12 cells in it. man what a difference in power and speed but it didnt last long because it twisted the plastic coupler off the shaft and the shaft vibrated severely since the motor had so much power and rpms than the stock one and had a minimal stuffing box and support. I had it running direct drive since the 550 wouldnt fit in the 380 size gear reduction. Also ended up making a cooling system for it which actually worked pretty good.

RE: Are OS 4S engines that bad?
Ive got a Thunder Tiger 91 and its a beast. But Saito has a larger lineup of engines than OS and the lighter weight, which are the 2 main things I see why Saito seems more popular.

RE: magnum 70 4 stroke rough running???
Check to see if the engine came with shims in the box. My thunder tiger 91 came with shims and the valve clearances on a sheet of paper. If its idling rough you might check your low end needle and the glow plug. The flywheel (large washer that prop sits on) for lack of better terms on my TT had an arrow on it to lineup with a mark on the crankcase of the engine for TDC.

A stock Chevy 572 puts out 720 hp and 685 ft.lbs. of torque. I dont see a stock Toyota engine doing that.
