RE: Sound Control
The cops are on our side. [:D] They watched & listened to us fly and saw no reason for anyone to complain.

RE: Sound Control
We may have to do the same thing at our field. We have 1 irate neighbor that wants us to leave. The club has been in operation for over 20 yrs with out any issue. Yesterday the county police got involved. I don't know what the outcome will be.[:o]

RE: rebuild of a 4*40 kit???
1st off, I commend you for attempting this. If nothing else, you will find out what didn't work. You need at least 3 hinges on the rudder. You may have to cut away the part where the old hinges were and add new balsa in order to get the hinges where they need to be. CA hinges are fine on this size model. I would not increase aileron size much beyond the original size, mainly because the 4*40 is not a 3-D design and never will be. If you want a .40 size 3-d plane, build a Mojo or something similar. If you can find some K2-R spot remover, you may be able to clean up some of the oil soaked wood. I've used it before, but with mixed results. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.[;)]

RE: First Scratch-Built. Does it look like it could fly someday?
Looks like it will fly. I would go for a thicker airfoil though. zx32tt

RE: Power HD servos?
I have several of them in my H-9 Carden Yak. They seem to perform well. No centering problems, and plenty strong. Good value for the $$. zx32tt[:D]

This is why I haven't gotten a response from AMA about this very issue! I only asked for reccomendations-guidelines, not a hard fast rule. 1 week later, still no response. zx32tt

RE: Should Carden release a 50cc kit, and if so what airframe?
I doubt may people would be willing to pay $700 for a 50cc size kit, even if it was a Carden. There are so few kits available these days of any size, that are IMAC capable. Very few of us want to actually build anymore. zx32tt

RE: Painting resulted in a run
You might be able to work it out with a tool called a diamond nib. Its a small metal block imbeded with fine diamond dust, used to remove boogers from the finish coat. If it were mine, I'd probably just sand it out and re shoot it. zx32tt

RE: Solidworks files to DWG/DXF problems
This is a little after the fact, but it may be better to create your files with the DWGeditor in Solidworks. It behaves just like Autocad. Otherwise, you can save your solidworks files as .dwg as others have stated. You, or someone will need to edit the cut lines, so that the parts dont drop out from the sheets as they are being laser cut. zx32tt[8D]

RE: My own Sukhoi SU-29 and DL-50
Nice work happyfly2008. I tried to do a wing w/ ribs in Solidworks, and found it to be very difficult. For built up structures, I think compufoil or Profili2 are better suited for us modelers. Others have done it in Solidoworks, there is a thread on FG, but for me, I think I'll go with compufoil. Please keep us informed as you progress.[8D] zx32tt

You should look to one of the UAV sites. Most are out west, but I think there is also a group in Maryland or Va. Good luck

RE: Building Surface
At present, I use a solid core door that I found. (free). I lay a sheet of 1/2"wall board on top and check with button thread for flatness. However, I'm thinking of going to a sheet metal top/ magenet system for the future.[:D] xz32tt

RE: Anyone Else Having Trouble With Super Monokote?
to tschuy, I've covered several planes using Coverite film. It is not as user friendly as Ultracote, but it does stay put, and holds up well. Like many others, I've experienced the same problems with the new formula monokote. I'm going to give the Hobby City covering a try. Many people see to like it. zx32tt

RE: Second and 3rd plane.
Don't be such a girly man.[sm=cry_smile.gif] The 4* is a very gentle flying plane. Just make sure the cg is correct. Set up dual rates and some expo if you can. Take it up to altitude, and see what happens in a stall. You will be amazed at how slow this plane will fly. Get someone thats a good flyer to maiden it and get it trimmed out. No need to make it a 3rd plane. Just do it! zx32tt[8|]

Hitec 7955's and 7950 (if they ever arrive). If you plane is shaking that bad, you need to find out why. Something is badly out of balance or bent. zx32tt [:D]

RE: OS 1.60 vs Super Tigre G2300
I had a ST 2300 and loved it. It was the newer Chinese version. With a perry pump, it was the one of the most reliable glow engines I ever had. No tuning problems at all, not 1 deadstick ever. I'd buy another one if needed to, and would not think twice about it. zx32tt [:D]
