RE: Whats up with kits?
I consider myself a builder, but like many of you, I find myself in the minority of this hobby. Most of my club members can't even do simple repairs to their airplanes, let alone actually build and cover something. Its unfortunate that more kits are no longer available, but if the demand was there, the kits would be too.[8|]

RE: Can birds perform loops?
There is a breed of pigeons called "rollers" that actually tumble in flight. Sort of like a lomchevak. :p I know I've seen some slow motion video of humingbirds doing rolls and loops.

RE: What size of RC planes do you like?
I fly mostly 30% to 40% gassers. However, the plane I have had the longest, with the most flights is an OMP Edge 540 profile, with a Irvine .53 glo. The larger planes are more fun for me, especially if its windy at all.

I'd suggest you build and cover a few kits for members at your club. If you can make > $5.00 / hr, you will be doing reeeeeeeeeeeeeeal good.

RE: Need your thoughts thinking of getting first large 3D plane.
I have both the DA-50, and a DLE-55. Neither compare to the smoothness or reliability of my Taurus 52. For your 1st giant scale plane, keep it simple, and get some quality servo's and a high quality switch. No need for a power expander. A single 2300 mah A-123 will be more than enough for your main power supply. No regulators req'd.

Mike, sorry for your loss. Your engine took a very hard lick. If the carb adn ignition components are intact, they are worth saving. Everything else is probably toast. Replace your TX battery with the proper size Eneloop, and get back in the air asap. Get a good ESV and know how to use it. Chuck

I would not consider using 5645's on a plane of this quality. They are dog slow, and do not center well. 7985's would be the min, 7955's or 7954's would be better.

RE: Hitec Recievers
The 7 ch rx will handle any of your flying needs as long as 7 channels is all you need. I have several of the 7ch rx's in 30% gas powerd planes. Be sure to get the HPP-22 programer, and keep up with all of the updates. Hitec had a deal going for a while where you could get one at a reduced price when you purchased a 7 ch rx. Not sure if that's still going on though. Chuck

RE: Have You Had Ignition Failures On Your Gasser?
The only ignition failure I've had was on a DLE 55. The ignition module went belly up after about 30 minutes run time. OMP finally covered it under warranty. Never had a problem with CH ignitions EVER.

RE: How to slow down plane while landing?
The side slip is a good way of bleeding off some speed. You would do well to practice slow flight at a comfortable altitude, just to see how slow you can actually fly the plane. If the cg is correct, I would not think that flaperons would be needed to slow the plane. 3D planes of this type are usually very stable at slow speed.

What has any of this have to do with the functions of the Aurora 9 radio. Zor, if you don't have an A-9, please direct your opinions regarding Hitec, and the A-9 system, to some other forum. I realize this is an open forum, but your comments serve no purpose other than your own self satisfaction of creating disruption. Those of us subscribed to this thread are here for a better understanding of this radio and all of its functions.

Clicking? I've never had a Hitec digital servo click. All of my digitals have a hum or some might call it a whine. As long as the servo's are not jumping around, I wouldn't worry about it. [;)] zx32tt
